I think it’s a really interesting set of stats, what it tells you is that:
-specialist forwards rely on more inside 50 entries to kick goals (you get more inside 50’s when you play bad teams)
-goal kicking midfielders aren’t as reliant on inside 50 entries.

Btw it also destroys the myth that Jack is a flat track bully.

I think this differential is possibly the least relevant statistic I've ever seen. Of the only six players with positive numbers, one of them is Adam McPhee.
Nuff said.

Probably would've been better expressed as a percentage, e.g. Milne's 25% decrease is less significant than Byrnes' at 45%, but I wanted to keep it simple. I agree, it's more trivial than useful.

Ha, I actually think it is interesting, at least in part.
I wouldn't recruit on the back of it though. ;)

I think given where we are at as a club, anyone who can kick goals against anyone is valuable.

Wait until we are a finals team before we start getting picky.

Didn't realise Knights is a quick small forward who adds defensive pressure. :headscratch

Well he's not tall, he's just not midget. No doubt Nahas adds more defensive pressure (although I woudn't class Knighs as defensively infertile). But in the season Knights played forward and kicked 40+ goals, he kicked 2.2 a game when Adelaide averaged 14.3 a game whereas Nahas who had his best season for goals this season of 1.6 a game when Tigers averaged 14.1. Surely Knights will be competing for positions with the likes of Nahas, Edwards and King?

saw him the other day (knights) looked to have a good size about him for that half forward to plays almost as another mid

If Knights can stay injury free & Have a good pre season he will add to both our foward and midfield rotations, He is a bigger body that will hopefully give us more options in both areas.

If it comes of could be an inspired get

Knights will play a role in the side that is currently not filled. He might indirectly push one of the 3 smalls out but that is most likely King.

Hopefully he can replace Jackson on the HFF.

Nahas is an interesting one, has his good and bad points, but I'd have to agree with skybeau. We can't afford to just give away 30 odd goals from our forward unless it's for something really good and I don't think that will happen.

Watching the Gold Coast game again, considering he kicked 3 goals in the 3rd. The miss on the siren from 40 out directly in front was rubbish and then his miss snap in the 1st 5 minutes in the last qtr was again rubbish.
He could've killed the game off, but he didn't..
100 inside 50's for 4 goals that's rubbish, we need Vicks to stand up next year!!!

Would we take pick ND#13 for Nahas?

What if it also included a downgrade of ND#9 to ND#12?

Firstly no club out there would give up a pick under 25 for him, he isn't Milne or Betts
He kicked 30+ goals, but I have lost count how many shots haven't made the distance or he has been caught trying to go on his right..
Wishful thinking..

There's a rumour that we are trading pick ND#9 for ND#12,13, zippa. That rumour doesn't make any sense to me unless there is a player involved.
