If the ladder was decided on scoring shots we would have finished second. Shots at goal are not an issue. We can do without Nahas. He is one dimensional in that he can't be rotated through the middle, unlike say Edwards. (He is also one sided)Phantom said:I have no doubt that the team can improve its overall goals output.
The players have taken great strides over the last few years, since they were forced to be "Richo-unreliant".
(Much to derision, I told everyone that we'd be better off long-term sans Richo.)
Also, over the last two years, being less "Jack-reliant", with more midfield goal kickers.
We will continue to improve by recruiting those who can score multiple goals against top clubs, as well as ordinary or lesser clubs.
And, of course, continuing to improve supply.

PBoRSM said:How is he not at least in our best 25 in anyone's opinion. Kicks goals - period. Goals win games - period.
Please suggest a plausible alternative to Robbie Nahas and I'd entertain the idea of a trade.
King doesn't kick enough goals and isn't good enough to play permenantly in the middle. He beats Robbie on pressure, tackling, shutting down attacker HBF, 2nd effort and hardness. Great attributes sure, but makes him sound like a hard nut back pocket and we have one of those. Small forwards should be judged solely on how many goals they kick. Other than Milne and Betts, who has more consisently kicked goals over the last 2 years in the genuine small forward role.
I love that Shank is finally getting his act together, but Nahas has been value for 4 years. Edwards has come good in the last 11 weeks of the season, so I'd suggest we just steady on.
I'd only trade Nahas if the replacement is of more value to the team than Nahas' 35 goals and good luck getting that.
Dyer'ere said:Robbie Nahas plays a very old-fashioned position for Richmond - crumbing forward pocket. He gets high from time to time (fair enough) but is way too light to play in the middle.
Who played crumbing forward pocket for Sydney this year? In the grand final? For Hawthorn?
Who at Sydney or Hawthorn is under 80kg? Which of their small forwards cannot present and catch. Edwards is way more now.
Wallace left us with a roster of runts. A rabble of ribs. We can't fix that in five minutes. And now that we have a much fuller (and rapidly improving) depth of experience we need to keep a slot pen for a development mid - crumbing small forward with a future.
Two sidedness would help Nahas evade the inescapable conclusion that he is too light. We should move Rockin Robin.

GoodOne said:Keep him if there is no reasonable trade but he is dispensable.
GoodOne said:Yes against the bottom teams, those with weaker and less pressured defences. He is suspect under pressure. Keep him if there is no reasonable trade but he is dispensable.
