Knights can replace the goal count if on song but not sure about his ability on the tackle front.

If we are to loose Nahas we should be hoping to get back into the first round to get Kennedy.

All these trade scenarios are doing my head in.

Why do posters want to trade Nahas 30 to 40 goals a year if we can get Vickery fit along with Jack having King Nahas & Edwards & now Knights gives us plenty crumbling forwards all of which can play higher up the ground rotating with Deledio Martin Cotchin forward makes us unpredictable.

Reckon it's just because his currency is as high as it's likely to be. He's not without value, but he rarely plays 4 quarters and I reckon this is what has Dimma questioning his worth in big games. Likes the pace to be out of the game and often plays handy second halves. When the heats on early - he can be a bit of a passenger. Just my 5c. If we can get something decent that fits our needs/profile whatever, then you'd have to consider.

Robbie is a pretty good role player, his output is probably above average for that role in the AFL. But My guess is that most other clubs would look at Robbie and think they could develop their own player to fill his role, I don't see a lot of potential trade interest for him.

Clubs trade valuable picks for roles that are hard to fill, not slightly above average forward pockets.

More than happy to keep Robbie at Tigerland. A decent player. Why on earth would we try to trade him? I hope the rumours aren't true.

Just look at his games against the top clubs, even in games we won.

A test of a genuinely good player is how they perform against the top clubs.

Phantom, that's a great stat sheet...pretty conclusive.

Still, 30 goals is 30 goals.

Are we confident enough that in 2013 we'll have 8 + players kicking 25 + min (excluding Robbie)?

Yes Nahas is suspect under pressure. Good clubs will catch him out most of the time as he has no left side. Many goals kicked this year were when it was all over. His value is relative high at the moment and he would make a perfect trade opportunity. Just like investing sell high, buy low.

Suspect it's more a case of GWS knocking than us going out of our way to trade Nahas. GWS needs to win over the locals as well as win games, and western Sydney contains most of Australia's Lebanese population. If they want him badly enough, they'll come up with something workable involving Tyson.

What's the significance of 25 goals+ and 8 players? Even Sydney only had 5 during the course of the home and away season and they don't have a key forward so to speak. King getting a full season in and Knights should cover the loss quite comfortably ignoring any other keys such as Vickery getting back to the fitness and form of 2011.

I have no doubt that the team can improve its overall goals output.

The players have taken great strides over the last few years, since they were forced to be "Richo-unreliant".
(Much to derision, I told everyone that we'd be better off long-term sans Richo.)
Also, over the last two years, being less "Jack-reliant", with more midfield goal kickers.

We will continue to improve by recruiting those who can score multiple goals against top clubs, as well as ordinary or lesser clubs.

And, of course, continuing to improve supply.

Its the old hey someone else is interested in me - how about a few extra dollars in the contract
