Robin Nahas

I can accept a lot of Robbie's faults, but the thing that drives me nuts about him at the moment is his not wanting to take the shot for goal.

Surely any decent forward craves the opportunity to kick goals, so wants the ball. Robbie seems to always want to dish it off. This does not bode well for his future as a forward IMO.

Nahas has played plenty of good footy this season in what is a most difficult position to play. I reckon the opposition rate him and when on song he is competitive and slippery just like Edwards and that's when we look our best. Robin's tackling has improved but his obvious weakness is distance kicking and this cannot be fixed but he is in our best 22 for sure.

Agree.

What doesn't get noticed is that Nahas always gets the best opposition small defender.

No way I'd get rid of him before King. What does that say though if people want to put him on the trade table. He has more value than King.

Poor form when he stood in the goalsquare with his hands in the air after Elton tried a roll through in Q4.
How about sucking it up for the 1st game player and and having a quiet chat when convenient. Particularly when you've struggled yourself on the day. 1 of a few players we have that struggle on the discipline side of things.

Every time I'm really doubting Nahas, he does something like that goal in the last where he took on the player on the mark and finished with an arrow-straight kick. He was absolutely determined and focused and it was a class above most of the dross that was dished up on the day. 4.1 is a great return out of 13.23.

I had Nahas dropped at half time. Then by the end of the game he redeemed himself and won it for us in the last.

He was about the only accurate one. Had a tough day at the office. He was monstered by Spencer before half time and then he got flattened in the last, I thought he was knocked out.

Yep me too. But as you said he redeemed himself with a very good second half.

We lacked confidence going forward due to the bad goal kicking over the past few weeks, this made them stuff around even more and not actually improve, Nahas has been a victim of over use lately.
They just need to nail shots inside 50 simple as that.
Take the first option and use it.
Agree he was struggling and played well after half time, we do not have a replacement for him anyway.

Seems like he's the first one people want to drop if the *smile* hits the fan but the last one to praise if the team wins and he plays well. Curse of the modern day small forward.

Yep. They all go through difficult times, tough place to survive. Easily in our best 22. Appears to be spending less time furtherb up the ground this year, last year he got super fit and was an important link man.

He has kicked 47.22 in his last 36 games.

Thought he was okay, but gosh it's frustrating watching him fumbling the ball, would be a very useful player if he was cleaner.

Agree with your comments. Missing King, with both on the park, both are damaging for longer periods of time.

Think it was crawler who gave him an elbow to the head. Watched it in slow motion and thought crawler should be cited for the hit. Anyone else see it, can't remember what quarter it was, maybe the 3rd?

Sorry that should read 'frawley', bloody preemptive script.

Very frustrating watching Nahas yesterday. Went to ground numerous times, looking all but dead at half time. Fully expected him to be subbed off after a woeful effort just before the siren. Then he comes back and plays some very good football. I guess this is a function of him playing in a graveyard position - perhaps Eddie Betts and Milne, even as superior exponents are frustrating to their fans on occasion.

Pre emptive script was it? Thought you'd named him appropriately after the cheap elbow on Nacho.

me too. I thought he was very average for most of the game and then he bobs up and kicks 4.

I still have issues with him in the longer term. Goes to ground too much and no left side at all, but in the end you can't knock a guy who kicks 4 from a forward pocket.

Useless, useless, and useless. Repeatedly fails to win one on one balls against his opponent. 95% of the time Robbie get shoved off the ball like a rag doll or bounces off his opponent when bumped. Is useless. Doesn't deserve to wear the jumper. Those easy gimme goals are just complimentary of the hard work his team mates provide him, but one on one's is useless. Dumb and scared.
