Compare this footballer to the one we saw against Port at Etihad last year----I honestly though I was watching his last . Incredible!
You and me both. Couldn't keep his feet, inconsequential in a contest, dumb mistakes and skill errors - what a turnaround. Hats off to the young man.

out of contract at years end and playing like his career depends on it.

Big question for craig cameron how long do you sign him for? 2 or 3 years.

This is where cameron earns his cash.

Robbie has brought his A game this year which is expanding our midfield punch. This is why we are cutting teams up with speed through the middle. I am so glad we are not playing that Sydney Swans chip, chip, chip *smile* :clap

In the first half of that game especially he was beyond horrible. If he was out of contract last year he may well have been delisted.
What he is doing now is astonishing to me , I just didn't see it in him. Still has no left foot and makes the odd howler of a mistake but he is performing way better than I ever thought he could play .
Would be in the top 6 in the B&F and who ever thought that would happen?

Geez mate, i think you need to settle down a bit ... He wasn't horrible against port... People exaggarate a couple of mistakes( the kick over Tuck's head in the 1st q and the handball in the d50 in the2nd q) other than that he was serviceable or to the extent the coaching staff new they had something to work on- hence why he has been rotated through the midfield..

Both The coaching staff and Robin knew what had to be done to get to the stage where he is now, so no it's not surprising..... and event the elite players make howlers so I don't know where you're going with that ???

He's also a foot longer than most guys.

I reckon he got a reduction in the pre-season. Would be difficult dragging that thing around during a footy match, which explains his form last year.

Sorry I'm a bit lost with your post .
I was referring an earlier post which mentioned the last game of 2010 when Robin had a shocker , probably 4-5 turnovers in one quarter . I remember supporters around us screaming for him to get off the ground. This followed a pretty ordinary 2010 , something that he and the Coach acknowledge . At that point it was my view that he may well have played his last game for us . That's why I am astonished by how well he playing now. Happy but astonished. Good on him and well done to him and the coaches.
I said he was now performing way ahead of where I thought he would be . He does have the odd howler , as do most players , and I wish he had a left foot . Apart from that he is going great . Not sure what is wrong with that , he is playing at a level much better than I thought him capable of is the point I was making.

his kicking was just a technique issue. he tended to push all his kicks left but he found making the minor adjustment of re-positioning his equipment from the left to the right side this neutralised his balance. it is believed a crane was brought in for the operation. true story but the crane part is just a rumour

I am replying to your observation in regards to his''howler'' of a game against Port... Which I find perplexing... The over exaggaration that he had 5 turnovers in 1 quarter is totally baseless. Anyway, the point is there were certain aspects of his game along with the couple of games prior that demonstrated to coaches that they had something to work with..( in regards to playing him in a midfield role). One coaches don't do is determine if a player should be delisted after 1 game

Don't worry mate, I got ya..... God forbid you put a slight observation of a negative event in the past to actually highlight the improvement and positives you see now...

shame on you ;)

I will try again .
"He has the odd howler' means he makes a few mistakes every now and then , I was not referring to the Port game but please get a copy of that game and have a look , he played really poorly especially in the 2nd quarter when Port kicked 10-11 goals from memory. He had a bad year last year which was topped off by a really bad game in round 22 . I was not giving an opinion on one game . He had a poor year in 2010, he admits that himself.
He is playing great for whatever reason which I am really happy with and I was wrong in my assessment of him . I was actually trying to highlight how much the guy had improved as a real positive for him and the Club
Hopefully that is clear now

Yeah its near impossible to have even the slightest of constructive criticism of a player on here of late without getting howled down.

WL, I was there at Etihad that day. He was shocking. In fact he was mediocre all through 2010. Did well to remain on our list in my opinion. Having said that, he has absolutely turned around. If he retains even 80% of this output, he is walk up start to win most improved this year.
