This thread cracks me up.

Give those of us that coudn't attend the flowersniffer view please Bobby so we can 'take some positives' out of the game.

Ok maybe good was a little overstating ive amended that but i did state in one on ones Ally, he was better in his body on body contests and thats what i was watching primarily as he was very poor in this area of his game last year, Alex had some fumbles and stutters and had a few howlers but he had more surity with his contested play one on one than ive seen in past 15 months . Disposal needs work but in contested play he showed more tonight imo. Still a long way to go.

Houli ..... meh , saw nothing to change my already poor opinion of him.

Houili was my only positive. Now I'm REALLY depressed!

He goes to ground in every contest. cost us two goals with silly errors in the first quarter and i heard the crows players screaming to whoever gets him, go to the goalsquare. They know he is no good and want him exposed in the goalsquare.

He simply can't spend every waking minute going to ground.
What did u think of the kick ins?

Agree re getting the ball out of defensive kick outs, the side is frozen out there, no one presents, no one demands the footy, and its made worse with the poor footskills especially through the defensive half. in fact ive never seen another side that has so many blokes waving pointing and holding their hands in the air yet do sweet *smile* all.

What did you make out of White across the backing Craig? I wasn't impressed.

How about giving those of us who weren't at the game details support that lack of impression. I'd like to know what options presented. I noticed at Shepparton last week the backs with the ball were faced with a lot of standing targets and lack of movement and support. Was that the case at the game today. I'd appreciate some details of his possessions. Was he in the backline the entire game? How much gametime did he have this week?

I've been to a lot of pre-season games over the years but I reckon today was the most shocked i've ever been at how inept we were. We bubbled, stumbled and refused to run to space.

It is hard to fathom how far behind we looked today. Adelaide are only a middling team and we didn't look like we were in the same league.

Didn't get there today. Kinda glad. I trust evo. That scares me.

On twitter Herald Sun reporter Sam Edmunds just tweeted "Most angry I've seen Damien Hardwick in a while. He was filthy. Players copped the hair spray treatment".

Unlike many on here, I think Hardwick knew when he took over, he had one player over 25 who belonged on an afl list. Newman. The rest needed turning over. It's a massive job.

I reckon he has has looked at the fixture and realized we have no chance for he first 5 rounds, and treated the pre-season like it was December. Played everybody on the list and had no intent to do anything other than get a few k's into the players and have a look at 40 something players. Very wise compared to Collingwood, who for some bizarre reason seem to want to start the season a month early. This will haunt them in august, mark my words.

So the tigers will ease into the season losing the first 5, before finding their best 22, and hit their straps around mid season, before running out of steam with young legs at the end of the season.

No good reason to expect more than about 8 wins for the season, but we can hope to blood many new young players like Conca, Batchelor and Hebig, along with sorting out who can play from last years recruits.

If you manage your expectations to that level, around 8 wins, and none for the first few rounds, you may find some cause for optimism.

No-one ran to space, rosy. It was extremely disappointing.

I can stand ifwe're underskilled, outmatched, or undersized, but when you see total unprofessional behaviour and laziness it just really grates.

Crows lookedm slick, well drilled, and hardened, just howslick, drilled and hardened they actually are is a mystery cos the Tigers really made em look world beaters tonight.

It was a bad one from the Tiges tonight.

Positives were few and maybe ive reached a bit tonight was too easy for this Darkie to come and smash em again.

Can understand why. At least 20 best 22 players and less than 2 weeks from round 1. Need a complete 180 in all areas after performances against Hawthorn and Adelaide.

The word unprofessionalism is an appropriate one.
I think the lack of veterans in our side is obvious. Delidio and Newman looked dis-interested throughout the afternoon- hardly setting an example for the younger ones. I think the entire list is complacent and thought the phrase "ease your way into the season" means: rock up, have a jog, a kick or handball here or there without getting hit. Just a poor attitude from the tiges "senior" players. I think, while the game is very off-putting, this is not a true indication where we are at. I just think the players have mishandled the pre season. The only player who has taken a real go at the pre season is Cotchin who has a senior and humble head on him. Barring injury, Cotchin will win our best and fairest by a mile. He is our best player and will be elite by years end. Poor guy won't get much support though. Maybe occasionaly from Lids, Jack and Martin.

Ok well the first positive was that it was a pre season game and you could see there was still elements of trialling going on.

Some great improvement has been made in some lesser type players that will fill our depth chart as the year progresses.

Foley is well and truly back. Martin has improved.

Conca, Batchelor and Helbig have added to our squad straight away and will be players. Derickx has shown some great stuff too.

Anyone deeply hurt by today has higher expectations than I do. I expect to finish around 13th. I would be happy with that finish if we blood some more kids, develop some more second tier players and limit the beltings to 50 points rather than the 100 point smashings we were getting. We didn't show up from the start today, then played a bit of good footy but the fell asleep again.

This end of the world dramatics by some on here is comical for mine. Reminds me of Round One last year. By the end of the year there was more positives than negatives. Long footy season ahead my friend.

I can't understand how we are so under prepared two weeks out from round 1.

I realise we aren't allowed to say anything negative about Hardwick, but he should be angry at himself. The only hope is that this is the wake up call.
