Rich V Carl - Match Day Thread

Yeah thought the backline was solid enough. 1 goal between McKay and Curnow - you take that. It was the midfield that was totally bent over. Slaughtered in a way I can’t remember particularly in that final term. That’s the concern - where does the improvement lie in there? Bolton and Baker will likely spend more time in there…. RCD is going to have to be given a run as a first touch clearance player… Sonsie maybe too but he probably isn’t ready…. Where’s Dow at?? Seen enough or Aarts and Ross is On ball or not at all. Concerning.
For me RCD and Dow need to come in and give them a run of games and see if there the future inside brigade simple as that and put Ross in the inside to but he needs to clean up his kicking and even go further Sonsie. The guard is changing we need to blend these kids in now.On Aarts not going to keep going on about it seems we're obsessed finding a spot in our best 22.Be nice if Stack pulls his finger out and get fit to.

Apparently they all tested negative with the test before the game, but then tested positive after the game had been completed

That is suss, you don't catch the virus in a couple of hours, it has an incubation period. Seems a bit convenient.

Footy is losing me. How can these players, who granted are on good money, be expected to just stand and shut up after a dodgy free is paid against them in the heat of battle. Meanwhile the media want unprecedented access to everyone and everything and expect honesty. Get *smile*!
The AFL want the best of both worlds. Mark my words kids will lose interest in this sport, if they’re are expected to have fun whilst being disciplined like navy seals. Somethings got to give.
and we havent even seen that l'il Ray Ray Chambermaid out there yet taking advantage of more LOOK-AT-ME_TIME, with this absolutely diabolical insane rule of no displaying or questioning my decisions pizzant peasants because I am thee Most Important /Influential being on this ground. (I seen you raise that eyebrow, let's take it back 50m shall we), he'll be unbearable.

God help me and too top it all off I'm an Atheist.............. :help:cry:

I beg to differ.
I'm willing to give the kid some more time in the "Onesy's", let him feel out the speed and how the game is played at this level, nothing to lose at this stage, some of the Older brigade need to feel a little pressure to retain their spots that have been guaranteed for the last 5 years, now its time to *smile* or get off the Pot in the Magoo's for quite a few of them I do believe.

Can't be too precious, we booed the entire Geelong team just for running onto the ground not so long ago.
Exactly, lets NOT make ourselves to be any better than many teams supporters, sure it stings like hell to lose to the Baggers like that after so long dominating like red-headed step children, but hey, if you cant take the heat when the shoe's on the other foot, maybe keep the mouth shut rather than sounding like a spoilt brat.

Things have certainly gone down hill since Dimma;s affair.
Really hard to think this has anything to do with players form dropping away, but facts are facts, so can't be completely dismissed I guess....... but my word, if this is the case, I'd be to embarrassed to admit it if I'm a Player right now because its shows a real lack of ............ Hell, I don't even have a word for it to be honest !

agree on Aarts, but more so Ross IMO, offers nothing. Looks OK I suppose when he gets the ball in space, runs, not fast, and maybe takes a bounce and kicks to a teamate. Thats it. Its not much to hang your hat on.
Thought Ross was one of our best, however I don't understand the persistence in playing him wide. Did the same last year. For me he's either played as an inside mid or bust. We desperately need to trial our youngsters as mids.

The stand rule is a travesty, a joke, an abomination, a too clever-by-half solution to problem that never existed, its what happens when idiots jump at shadows, and in addition, it is against the spirit of the game.
I can't believe they didn't can the rule. It's so unintuitive and goes completely against human nature.

Personally don't get too precious over the booing. I didn't like the Carlton supporters around me, yelling out about Dusty, that its just another cheap disposal. Of all the midfielders in the comp, I'd say he is the least likely to go after cheap disposals. If they want to look for cheap disposals, how about starting with Tom Mitchell, Lachie Neale or anyone in the Bulldogs midfield.

That blonde headed umipre seems to ream us badly.
Aarts has a Carlton player laying on top of him and he calls for a ball up..
But soft vertebrae Cerra all night flopped forward and got paid 5 in the backs.
That's Selwood world record pace.

The Carlton nuffies said nothing around me when Cerra gets in the back frees other than "it was there", then stand up and scream, blue murder when I can't remember who it was, was driven into the ground and the Blue (might have been Pittonet) was actually lying across his back with our player lying face down on the ground.
