Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

I'd like to see him play more midfield than defence.
He is a very important part of our midfield moving forward.

He only played more backline this week because Batchelor was a late out.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Showed some acceleration I didn't know he had. Even better - he doesn't drop his head when he makes the odd blunder. Can't wait to see this boy in 2-3 years time. A midfield of Chimp, Martin, Foley, Grigg, Lids, Conca and a couple of guns we're going to pick up this year makes me dizzy with anticipation.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Pretty impressed with his game today tends to pic out the right player even in tight situations, runs hard and even the few blunders he did he followed up immediately and won the ball back, good character.... like grigg he looks to run and receive...

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

His vision is elite, and his delivery based on that vision is neat. I like him.

I noticed that in his game if he makes a blue it lifts him to the next level for a while.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

really liking his work at the moment and is growing in confidence by the week. he will never be the best we got but his best is damn good.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

i reckon he's the type that would be a real suprise packet in a final , unguarded and come out with a 25+ game...improves inch by inch ea week... :clap

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Thought he had very poor discipline. That throwing the opposition player to the ground when we had possesion of the ball in the background was very immature. Cost us a goal at a crucial time. There was another play where he made a very crude and unnecessary tackle as well. Needs to get these sort of instances out of his game. But he is only a 2nd year player and his disposal efficiency was 95% on the weekend so wasn't a bad performance overall.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

To get him in a heavily compromised draft was great. Under normal circumstances we could have got him with a 2nd round pick too but hey, what can you do? Will only get better as well :)

Watch it again. Saad wouldn't let go of Conk's arm, he was swinging himself violently to get free and in the process brought Saad to ground.

It was clever by Saad and unfortunate for Conca.

He fell for it. He was dragged straight away and straight onto the phone.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

I think that he is the natural replacement for Jackson that so many have been calling for. He is very tough and strong like Jacko but far better skills. Will be a leader at the club as we move into a period of sustained success.

He'll learn from that, played a terrific game last night and showed composure beyond his years.

And how that's called a free kick is beyond me. It was out of play.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Don't know why Hardwick has reverted to playing him in the backline. Rather him in the midfield rotation and Ellis more off HBF if anything.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

He doesn't have the beautiful kicking mechanics of Lids or Houli, but I reckon he is in top 5 at the club for ball use. Has vision and fantastic depth perception, which is vital in modern football when you are picking you way through spots in zone defenses.

FJ was right when he rated this kid so highly.
