I don't.

The AFL is setting a ridiculous and very dangerous precedent for the future of the sport. Suspending players who cause injury? :spin

Aussie Rules involves physical contact and as a result of that people get hurt. Unfortunately it's part of the game.

I worry where this all ends..
Me to, Too.

From what I can see Thomas didn't hit him high, late, it wasn't intentional.

He has to get off.

People were saying the same thing about Whitecross and that worked out just fine. I think there would be a huge cause for alarm if Lonergan had been reported. The thing that will potentially go against Thomas is that he went to ground and took a guys legs out.

But if Gary Rohan didn't break his leg, would Thomas of been suspended?

If it was Chris Judd who did that to someone, would he have been suspended?

Does anyone really think Lindsay Thomas did anything wrong? I dont understand how he got 3 weeks.

he should get off. before i had seen the footage, i assumed it was similar to the incident Goodes was, rightfully IMO, rubbed out for.
having seen the footage i can not see how he should be suspended. he went to ground to get the ball. if he doesnt go low he risks getting rohan high.

i agree with ToO, if the suspension stands it sets a very bad precedent.

In a way it's not to different from the Conca incident. He had to go to ground to contest for the ball, just like Conca.

If he wasn't injured probably not. However the guy Goodes hit last week wasn't injured but he still got a week so who knows! I suspect if someone had done it to the Chimp we would be calling for his head.

Some may be, I'd be upset it was Chimp but I don't know how it's a reportable offence, no matter who it happened too.

agree checkers, didn't look like there was anything in it. he had his hand on the ball at the time of impact. very stiff

Sorry for turning the Conca thread into the Lindsay Thomas thread.

Don't be. Was thinking of starting one after I watched 360. Really difficult one checkers. I am really undecided.

I think it's a massive issue, guys going to ground and rolling into another guys legs in an effort to get free kick for in the back will lead to more broken legs. The Lions player who did it to Ablett I thought was actually worse and more dangerous. It was only Abletts nimble little hop at the end that saved him from a Nathan Brown like broken leg.

Get it out of the game, I think, it's really ugly.

It is banned in the NFL.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

MixED bag for Reece some good stuff and some absolutely revolting if not game costing stuff - will learn from it.

agree linus. (It was our old mate Rainesy) Ablett out 3-4 weeks with bruised bones. Sorry for off topic, but I feel strongly about it. I don't want to see it hapen to Cotch, Dusty or Lids, or anyone

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

wants to make things happen instead of just booting it anywhere like some of his more senior teamates.

He could have taken the easy option and hacked it and no-one would be complaining

It's one thing to win the hard ball, it's another to then also hold posession and find a teamate.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

He has taken a bit of the floating out of his kicking as compared to last season, and in this game he seemed to have erred too low on occasion. All part of development.

Agree H. The thing I like about Conca is he wants to be involved, wants the ball, wants to create. He reminds me a bit of Brad Boyd when he first started for Fitzroy. The more experience he gets the better he will become at these things. Didn't think he was as bad as plenty have made out. A future gem.
