He has zero class but tries hard. Last week was abysmal. His first quarter was awful, 2 shocking kicks. He went to th middle and played well. His sloppy disposal is not as noticeable when he’s in the contest. He can’t play Hbf but as a replacement mid he may find a spot.

Classy?? Not close, but he tries his guts out.

he definitely has class. for some reason, and i think its part snakes whipping boy theory and part something else, his clangers really stand out.

Its an orchestra, and Reecy C is the Oboe.

he had a disposal today that was Dusty-like. he won a contested ball and put it on a dime to CHF for a goal.

I have no barrow to push on Reecy. But I thought his game today was Prestia quality.

If we can keep him fit and in this role, we've got a 6th beetle.

Classy mids aren’t 6th beetle. He has grunt.

But agree it’s as an inside mid he will need to earn his keep.

do you know what class is? Sure his disposal can be iffy, needs to improve there for sure. But get this, the coaches and those who know get it, ability in heavy traffic, quick hands, evasion, thats where his class lies. Pretty much all of his possessions were in heavy traffic, thats his thing. Watch the game maybe?

Many half compliments through gritted teeth. Gotta laugh..

Well done Snake for sticking fat against the tide..

Re: Reece "Silky Smooth" Conca

seems to be a routine ,

Comes back from injury , looks ordinary , starts to string some games together , starts to look much better , gets injured again ,

Repeat

I personally think he can play , but injuries have stopped him progressing

Fair dinkum, its a bloody joke. The old whipping boys, usually, were battling players. Now we're premiers suddenly Conca is Morris? Brainless. He plays a bad game therefore he has never played a good game and never will? Shanks a kick so everything he does is crap? Brainless. He has shown time and again he's a good player if not a gun, elite evasion, tough, creative. His run of form early last year was intergral in setting up what turned out to be a premiership season. I've said it a thousand bloody times, but no, there are a hardcore of baggers who can't get it through their thick skulls, plays a bad game, therefore he's a bum. dumbsville, fair dinkum.

Re: Reece "Silky Smooth" Conca

we were sayin' he was good at winning the ball four years ago.

but you get the feeling Hardwick will have him out at the first available opportunity.

played well today, but is depth in a top four side.

Too true - the Morris comparison was the ultimate..
And agree re Edwards, never bagged him once or wanted him dropped. We were always starved of class and he gave us a taste of it.

no arguments there kiwi. My beef is with those who think he can't play. Lacking eyeballs, or memories.

Hardwick rates him. Miles ahead if C Ellis

You're over-reacting snake. The whole criticism on Conca is that in 8 seasons he still hasn't established himself as a first 22 player. It started to show early last year, but unfortunately injuries pulled him back. Only played 15 games in 3 seasons before this season. My own opinion is that he'd be our best trade so far.

Re: Reece "Silky Smooth" Conca

There is more chance that my rooster Rioli lays an egg

than Reecy not playing next week

not overreacting at all. Criticism so out of whack with the big picture reality. He's a croc, everyone knows that.

Conca was pivotal today with his 24p no chance at all of being dropped

true, haven't seen the stats yet, the AFL site is blocking me :p, I had the vibe he'd had his usual 20.

Re: Reece "Silky Smooth" Conca

Pretty good today.

Will be in the side for months now.

This.

He takes a long time to find form after an injury and unfortunately once he finds peak form he gets injured.

Conca is very good in tight. The tighter the contest the better. He's strong over the ball, has a great side and reverse step to find gaps in congestion and has clean quick hands.
