Rebuild Time

Trade Dusty to Sydney? Odd, 2 games ago you were saying about him:

This obsession with me has to stop. Either back the F off or I’ll get the cyber police to intervene

The top 8 is composed of two teams who can beat us on the MCG (with half our team out)
They are Geelong and Collingwood.

The rest of the 8 can’t beat us on the MCG.

I reckon we are better off finishing finishing 5th or 6th.

Before Friday there was only one team who could beat us on the G. Now there are 2.

Could be a few more by the end of the season.

While winning a flag and finishing on top of the ladder , we have drafted another 13 kids, with most either playing AFL or showing very good signs in the VFL, we also have added Tom Lynch, and this year we still have our first 2 picks and have moved up to either the first or second pick in round 3. Imho the list has been managed extremely well in recent years, we’ve stayed as contenders while adding a great number of talented youngsters

I agree that the list has been managed quite well, apart from not drafting a couple more talls.

That's a bit OTT!

I think you need to take a holiday, relaaaxxxxx. Come back September.

While you're away our injured players will return and get their mojo up in running.

We get a roll on in August then BAM!

You return just in time for Afl AND Vfl finals, less stressed and back on board :D :D :D

Making the finals alone will exceed my expectations. Am of the opinion to not risk Rance, Riewoldt, Pickett, etc and any other players long term welfare for this year when its expected next will be a more successful year?
So, if we make finals this year we should leave Tross, Jaaack, Pickett, Nank etc etc out in the rehab group n save them for next year???

Crippled by injury we're easy meat for quality teams. Full strength we can match it with any team, so why wouldn't we be looking to get as many experienced players back up and in form for the finals run?

We are rebuilding right before our eyes.

I just hope we don't do a Collingwood or Essendon and trade away our future for a busted arse player.

Recruiting excellent:

Conca, Ellis, Lennon all wasted top 12 picks. That’s why our midfield has no depth.

Martin, Lynch, Prestia, Rance and Riewoldt all on 800k plus while Dangerfield et al take less and deliver twice the output

Set your alarm clock for 2019 buddy.

We are a system based team. Our system can withstand a few players out but our injuries have reached a tipping point where the system breaks down leading to heavy defeats. You could see on Friday night that the senior players were trying too hard I.e. not playing the system to try to cover the young players.
No top team can cover the loss of 5-7 top players. Our list is good and we are giving the kids great experience. No rebuild necessary. We are in good shape injuries aside. Finals in 2019? Maybe. If we get the list back to something close to what it should be we can make a contest of it.

Our system is getting old (just like Win 7 is) and needs a lot of upgrades.

Disagree. It is continually being tweaked. With a full list we are Moreno than competitive.

Another ruck- ideally mature age 2nd ruck whilst Cujo develops, maybe a Tom Nicholls type to buy time for Callum.

Another 2 ball winning mids at least one bigger than 190cm to bring along with Rossy and Riley.

2 Key defenders ideally 195+ to replace Tross and Dave.

Couple of slick runners/ distributers.

Another specialist Key Forward.

Our list actually needs some attention in all areas imo save for small forwards at face value.

Spoiler alert the ending is not always - and they lived happily ever after, Santa and the Easter bunny ain’t real and Hardwick is an average coach
