PRE Phantom Draft 2012

Tigerdog chooses Liam McBean (Forward/Ruck) for North.

For the Tiges, Tigs2010 chooses Liam Byrne Mid/Defender.

shouldnt pick 43 be the crows? did we trade?

Still about five that I really like around here. Considering what the Saints have done in the offseason they can be very happy.

Added Tom Hickey, Tom Lee, Nathan Wright, Nick Graham .

A ruck to help McEvoy and someone who will excel with the new ruck rules, a key forward to replace Kosi, a rebounding defender to replace Jason Gram, a tough onballer
to learn from Lenny Hayes. Need to find a tall defender.

Aiden Corr. At 195cm has great pace (top %6 over 20m at the draft camp) and is smart with the ball. Should fill out to 195cm 95kg monster with pace and kicking skills.

I don't barrack for the Saints but I would be stoked with this.

Sydney are thinking about a bit of generational change down in the backline given Malceski and Shaw are approaching their twilight years. As a result they are delighted to call upon Jackson Thurlow from Launceston.

At 189cm and 80 kg, Jackson had a stellar u/18 championships racking up an average of 24 possessions and 6.6 marks, unsurprisngly his form was duly rewarded with an AA gurnsey. The Sydney brainstrust are quite surprised a player with Thurlow's elite kicking skills was still onboard at this late stage in the game and see him becoming a bit of a backline general. They see huge potential with his ability to spoil and negate, this being confirmed with his excellent vertical leap results at the combine, and feel that his appetite for a contest will fit comfortably with the Sydney Swans premiership winning culture.

AA defender, good size, elite kicking with outstanding vertical leap. Sounds like an inspired pick at this point bullus. :)

With Pick 40 Fremantle Selects Brandt Colledge from Perth Football Club

Hard working player who presents with multiple leading efforts and has strong hands in the contest.

With pick 46, West Coast select Nick Rodda from West Perth.

195cm, 96 kg, KPD who is quick for his size and has a no nonsense approach to his footy. Has really good hands and is a very good contested mark

With Mitch Brown's future at the club uncertain, Darren Glass coming to the end of his career, a general lack of bulk and strength in their tall defensive stocks and a firm belief that their premiership window is open, Rodda looks to be a good fit for the Coasters.

Capable of playing senior footy next year and having an impact, the Eagles will rue not trading Mitch Brown when they had the chance. Indeed, if they knew Rodda would be still available, they would probably have moved Brown on to St Kilda.

The point is, it is highly unlikely that Rodda will fall to the Eagles, because Freo are set to pounce if no one else does.

Can certainly see the Bulldogs being interested, and possibly Hawthorn.

Sydney thought long and hard about this pick becuase they believe there are still some very good footballers left on the board, in the end they have decided to opt for Geelong Falcon Mason Wood. The deciding factor behind Wood's selection was his potential versatility, given he stands at 192cm, he now becomes a viable option as a third tall, rebounding defender or offensive wingman.

Wood impressed the Sydney recruiters with his outstanding agility where he finished in the top 8% and his overall endurance. His form in the u/18 carnival was also eye-catching, particularly his round 1 match against Vic Metro where he was Vic Country's best player after being assigned a defensive role. His record at the Falcons was also impressive, with 23 goals playing as a lead up forward.

The Swans are pleased to pick up a player who they believe has a significant upside and someone who has the potential to plug any number of holes in their ageing list. They like Wood's kicking skills and his contested marking, and are completely satisfied that he will make the most of his natural talents.

Nick Graham is the one I will be praying for to slide to our 2nd pick.

Bastards! He only needed to slide one more pick.

North select Hawthorn discard Tom Schneider.

I think that means its pick 49 and Melbourne's pick.

Melbourne have scanned the various fan forums (or is that forii ?) phantom drafts and are elated Tim O’Brien is still available for selection over on PRE.

Tallish KPF. Now that MFC are resigned to the fact that Jack Watts as an out and out soft dud, they need a KPF who isn't afraid of breaking a finger nail. Tim, a chronic nail biter, should slot in nicely.

Quick question, are we doing this phantom with the same rules as the AFL draft?

Dogs don't have any more available spots on their senior list, but would you still like me to continue picking players?

Looks like M_R is not picking so at 52 the Bummers go for Brodie Murdoch. Our fans think we've got plenty of talent on our list but we know better so best available here. Dudoro read a nice write-up of him in a phantom draft so that's good enough for us. 187cm medium forward, brother of Geelong's Jordan. Like his bro, he's a nice left foot kick. Moves well, pretty good in the air. Knows where the sticks are.

5 spots available on Dog's list.

I've taken:

Toumpas
Macrae
Clurey
Hunter
Herbert

Do I continue picking or are we making this align with the AFL?
