PRE Phantom Draft 2012

Pick 65 GW$ : Emmanuel Irra (South Adelaide)

We've never ever had to wait this long for a pick before! Wake up Kev will ya!!!
Quick, very elusive small who can really make would be tacklers look silly. Love watching these African guys get a go.

Okey Dokey, things are definitely becoming a little leaner with three of Sydney's preferred candidates being snapped up in the last round pf picks. As a result, Sydney are seeking out some SCG specialists who should adapt well to the confined spaces of their home ground and players who will continue the club's proud tradition of tough and hardened onballers.

Our pick 66 is therefore being used to select Vic Metro's Tom Temay, a player who the club feels will be particularly useful in tagging roles and shutdown assignments. The fact that Temay held his own against the probable number 1 pick, Lachlan Whitfield, was too hard to ignore and his 78% kicking efficiency comfortably meets the standards set by the recruiting department. Sydney also likes the fact that Tom's father Paul played 52 games for St Kilda and feel that his family background will make Tom's transition into professional football a relatively seamless one.

Pick 67 will be used on North Adelaide's Nick Amato. The Sydney brainstrust realise that Amato is a bit on the short side at 174cm but have been thoroughly impressed with adaptability into senior football. Given Nick made his SANFL debut as a 16 year old, they have closely monitored his progress and have been pleased with his physical conditioning over the past 12 months. They felt his form at the u/18 carnival was worthy of a late selection in the draft and plan on using him to shore up their midfield stocks.

I'm not fan of his, but in light of my limited capacity to research picks this late and the Hawks dismal key defender stocks (Brain Lake is not the answer in 2013) I am picking Jayden Post.

Ha! You just want to save your $20. ;D

That's ok Tora.

If most agree??, I reckon we'll go to the end of the 4th round seeing as a few are starting to pass now.
It will mostly be rookie upgrades from about here on anyway I expect.
So you can still pick or pass up to pick 85. If you choose to pass, please post 'pass'.

Sounds good to me.

Nervous that the AFL are circling with sanctions, the MFC quickly pack up their things and leave the draft function room. We are done for the day, possibly year or two too.

Pick 71. Carlton – Sean Lynch (184cm 76kg) South Fremantle

Having gone for x-factor in the first round, we then filled a pressing need in the second before looking toward the future in the third. Here again in the fourth we are looking to inject more depth and rebound into our back-half so we can release Gibbs into the midfield and unearth an heir to Scotland.

Sean is a speedy rebounding defender with a good kick and endurance that could see him develop into a midfielder. He averaged over 20 possessions in the Championships, close to half of which were contested.

I'm not going to sully PRE's Phantom Draft board with my lame attempt to find a player this late- pass

At the Bummers, Lame is our middle name, so we'll step right up.

Dudoro's been reading the phantom drafts again and he's salivating at the thought of *smile*. Matthew *smile*. Thought he'd been taken by now but a glance at page 1 of this thread confirms he hasn't. Which is great, because here at Tullamarine we love *smile*. We can't wait to see *smile* in the changing sheds, getting all greased up and ready to go. *smile*'s hard but smooth, with great penetration off the HBF. Sometimes these blokes who go so hard and fast can be a bit messy so it's pleasing to note *smile* topped the Clean Hands test at draft camp.

It's appropriate he plays for Calder because at times he goes like a shot out of a cannon. He takes a great mark - he can really get up. He's a quick, slippery customer, which suits our supporters' premature exclamations. Quick *smile* joining forces with Messiah Joe will have Bummers fans coming out of the woodwork and into the Windy Hill windsock faster than you can say, "Mum! Close the door!"

:clap

Like a red flag at a bull, we at Carlton are all worked up watching Essendon grab *smile* and want to top it, so we start rolling out mister *smile* himself, Brendan Fevola. Mick once said “the ox is slow but the earth is patient” – now if Mick’s the earth and Brendan’s the ox, hop on the wagon ! is what we were thinking - but then we catch ourselves in the mirror and regain some composure...

Pick 76. Carlton – Marco Paparone (193cm 84kg) East Fremantle - A tall forward with a midfielder's engine, he won WA's B&F at the U18 Championships and kicked 45 goals from CHF in 17 games at Colts level.

Thankyou and good-night from us at the Scum.

Haven't they taken a *smile* once before? It was Willy, wasn't it?

Saints pick Myke Cook. Need to reward those doing well at Sandy. More ran and carry pace for the Sainters.
