PRE Phantom Draft 2012

The Mt Buller Football Club feel they need to add some experience to the squad, on and off the field and especially during our end of year trips to China, so we select the ex-RFC listed player Dan "The Man" Connors.

A lively type who can produce flashes of brilliance and mesmerise the audience with his ability to find the pill and deliver it his mates with needle point precision. He can be handy onfield as well.

Edit: Just to clarify in case people are wondering, while the write up is in jest I rate Connors as a player. I reckon given a second chance, and he'd play for minimum wage, he'd be worth a late pick.

pick 54: the crows pick justin hardy. an experienced Kurt Tippett replacement who has also been successful in defence.

We're pretty much a one-man band in the midfield at Esserdumb so we're rapt this bloke is still on the board: Shane Nelson. Surprisingly undrafted last year, he averaged 25 disposals in 14 senior WAFL games this year, with 11 goals to boot. A real hunter of the ball, with neat skills. Ran a blistering 2.8 for the 20m at draft camp this year, as well as 7.8 for the agility. Nearly took him at 35, so we're over the moon he's here at 55. Dudoro is under the desk thanking me.

Pick 56. Carlton - Cameron Banfield (183cm 74kg) Sandringham Dragons

The search is on to find a replacement for Heath Scotland as he approaches retirement. Cameron is a running half back with plenty of upside, he's quick, kicks with both feet, moves well laterally and loves to tackle. He averaged 18 possessions in 12 TAC games, 40% of which were contested and has a good vertical leap.

Pick #57 Gold Coast

Jack Hannath 201cm 97kg, 21 y/o Central Districts SANFL.

Looking to replace Tom Hickey, who was traded to St Kilda, Gold Coast select ruckman Jack Hannath, a 21 y/o who has shown very good improvement playing in the SANFL in 2012.

Gold Coast look to further develop Hannath into having another suitable option to back-up Zac Smith.

With Pick 60 Fremantle Selects Khan Haretuku from the Frakston Dolphins

AGE 23 HEIGHT 198cm WEIGHT 106kg

Was at Stkilda as a rookie had a great year at the Dolphins Kicking 30 Goals

I would hope we use one of our three picks after 9 on him.

At pick 61, the Eagles take Cameron Symonds out of East Fremantle.

205cm, 100 kg.

Good longer term ruck prospect that gives them some extra cover for when Cox goes. Great with his ruck work, a decent left footer and pretty mobile for a guy his size.

One of those kids who made the transition through to league this year and did it pretty well.

At Pick 62, the Eagles take Kane Mitchell from Claremont

175cm, 75 kgs

Mature age Sandover medallist who has a massive engine and heart to go with it. Loves it in hard, but is also a decent goal kicker with good pace. Great insurance for Daniel Kerr.

Bound tobe plenty of clubs looking at him.
