PRE Phantom Draft 2012

Tough crowd, I was asleep. I'm just trying to find the best left footed Tasmanian available.

I will take Jesse Lonergan as a big body mid who may be able to play some football next year in a must win now team. He is also a hyper good athlete who had a lot of injuries last year so has room for improvement. The fact he is a Tasmanian is just a bonus.

Pick #30

Port Adelaide – Tim Broomhead (SA – Util)
Height: 182cm, Weight: 73g, DOB: 22/03/1994

Broomhead is a versatile type who can play midfield, forward or back. Broomhead is quick and strong overhead, can win his own ball. Overall he has a solid all round game. With his light frame Broomhead will start in more of an outside role, with the view of play more inside once his body develops.

Pick #31

Jason Pongracic (VIC – Mid/Fwd)
Height: 182cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 21/04/1994

Strong body and big bodied inside ball winner type who attacks the footy pretty hard. Pongracic thrives on the contested situation. Skill set is very good by both hand and foot and more often than not uses the ball very well. Pace is a query with him as he is not the quickest midfielder going around. Also questions have been asked whether he has been dominating in the junior ranks due to his bigger frame. In saying that he should have an immediate impact with Port Adelaide from early on next year.

Ok I'm out...

After you spent all of last year's phantom whinging about how slow things were, I am surprised you took part again. And last year's was finished before the actual draft, despite all your complaints. ToO is right, be patient. Or crack the sads and leave.

I have never heard of tanking in the draft before.

Anything can happen in the weird and wonderful world of the AFL. Tanking in a Phantom Draft, no less. Just like when Paul Roos used to tank in the Pre-season games so his team wouldn't have to play under silly rules for another couple of weeks.

Many have said that about our recruiting teams over the years. :hihi

I would have picked the kid with the best draft camp interview, but sadly I don't have that data

Pick #32 - Richmond - Rory Atkins (Forward/Midfielder)

My boy Rory. Anyone who reads any of my posts would have seen this coming a mile away. ;D

I'll do all my write ups in one post later on.

Have given toothless some think time..
Hopefully he comes back by his turn however if he doesn't if anyone else wishes to take over the Blues please put their hand up when the time comes. 8-

Sorry guys.

Lions select Spencer White, Western Jets.

We think we have secured possibly the most exciting player in the draft. 195cm, 90kgs, runs like the wind and jumps like Naitanui. In White we have our replacement for Jono Brown and a future marquee player to re-invigorate the Lions fans to early 2000s proportions.

The comparisons to Buddy are not far fetched. In fact, our bloke has a more reliable shoe that Buddy and has a better leap than Buddy.

Will need to find some consistency in his game but, under the tutelege of Jono Brown, we think he can get there and, if he does, look out!!

So you've drafted Jarrad Brennan's replacement.
