goose said:If he is available then we should take Toby Greene - racks up getting the ball, got great evasion in traffic, slick hands and is tough as nails. Got a big tank and great work rate.

Phar Ace said:Sure, but the Club with the 'token bid', as you put it, may have to proceed if the Father/Son club decides not too - the argument being it keeps it real, but preferably available to the Father/Son club - preferred it the old way really, clubs should be able to squeeze some advantage out of past player association - great traditions etc.
jb03 said:Surely though Melbourne have to take him as they have committed to him so the token bid has to be usurped. Seems silly that a club can, or even does commit to a father/son so far out.
BBC said:I have heard Viney is so good that if Melbourne did not commit to him in the 2012 draft that GWS would have scooped him up this yesr as a 17 year old and on traded him.
After O'Meara, Viney would have been the most highly sought of the batch.

Can play but he is a massive risk and is pretty mentally weak.
If he has an injury free career he will be a 200+ player and dominate, but has had the last 3 years interrupted by a whole range of injuries which has messed with his head.
Apparently he has got a corkie before and refused to come back onto the ground. Wouldn't surprise me considering he is probably doing all he can to ensure he doesn't get injured again.
amcre said:Yes I would think we will look elsewhere.
For mine I think Greene will be available at 14 and is probably the safest bet.
By all reports an excellent kid, with great hand skills in tight, tough and has a tank. Would be perfect for our midfield imo.
amcre said:My mate is a recruiter/opposition analyst for a VFL club. He has also done plenty of work with the jets and said Hoskin elliot is an absolute beauty.
He wasn't writing off completely and said he was very talented but that he would be a risk.
