Pics 15 & 26 ND 2011 - Who should we pick?

Some believe he's top 5 quality so I doubt it will be a case of slipping under the radar, guys like Greene and Crozier are my tips to be the big sliders.

I'm not saying he'll slip because he's under the radar, I'm saying he'll slip due to lack of exposed form and the uncertainty that comes with that.

Re: Pic 14 ND 2011 - Who should we pic?

There,s always a slipper or 2.
Look at last year:Atley[Tipped to go top 10]-Went late teens to Norf.
Dare i mention Darling. ;D

Re: Pic 14 ND 2011 - Who should we pic?

Atley "slipped" for a reason. Foot skills or lack thereof. Wouldn't say he's done anything to prove the recruiters wrong so far.

Darling was the big slider that no one picked ala Fyfe the year before.

I hope so, he's my first preference in terms of guys that are likely to fall between 8-16.

What about Dalgleish - goal kicking mids are worth a bit, good size and pace also. I thought Ross sounded a nice fit given the focus of the club to grow the on field leadership group

Do with think either of these will slide

How many of the people involved in the slide / slip debate have actually seen him play? Perhaps he might 'slide' because about the only reason 90% of people know his name is because Emma Quayle and Shifter Sheahan have talked him up. Then their comments get repeated by others. What if they are wrong?

Both sound a nice fit. Not sure where they would fall though. If we keep our 2nd rounder im happy to give either a try or Waldhunter. Need a hard at it inside mid with a ready-made body. Kavanagh would be a dream but feel if he slips to 14 there has to be some serious concern.

Would be hoping for some player for player trades and hold our picks. Seems like there is still some quality in there.

I watch him play mate, He has shown great ability but it seems like whenever he does, it then involves him sitting on the sidelines. I agree the only reason that 100% of non draft watchers know his names is because of media hype from Quayle and Shifter and others but it's not as if they pluck his name out and think let's talk this one up.

They have regular communication with club recruiters. Of course they could be wrong but their are very few certainties when it come to recruiting and Kavanagh sits in the high risk high reward category. I think he'll go after pick 10 because there are surer bets out there.

Re: Pic 14 ND 2011 - Who should we pic?

speaking to a Melbourne mate of mine he says that Melbourne are likely to use their first round pic (12) to secure todd vineys son, well thats if a club offers their first round pic and that could well happen, hope so, as that would actually have us at pic 12 and 2 draft spots better overall if the dees pic viney as a father son....

You're Melbourne mate doesn't know the rules. Viney will be in the 2012 draft.

The adelaide article says he is certain top 10. Damn it. Think it is very unlikely he will be available. Start praying though.

The good thing out of that article is that Port might take a ruckman with their first pick(#4)

Probably not as it looks like Griffin from the Dockers will be traded to Port.

Re: Pic 14 ND 2011 - Who should we pic?

Anyone seriously have insight on this yet, junior watchers this year.

now i spend so much time interstate now for work, i dont get to any junior games or championship games :( im hearing the same few names like Kavanagh, Grigg, Waldhunter, Talia, Buntine etc im thinking Grigg wont be there as one of the SA teams will grab him if hes any good, and Tigers were tipped in a early phantom draft to take Buntine who sounds like a solid prospect too even though i believe he is a med defender type.

Like i said i have no idea i havent seen anything or really spoken to any of my snitches.

Brad McKenzie fits the type we would go for.
