So we have a 100% dedicated AFL channel on Fox and we don't even get a replay of the game. Fox should be negotiating with the state leagues to televise a replay of all state league GFs.

can macrae get his own ball, and is he purely an outside player, or can he go inside as well?

Where do you think he will go on draft day?

I wonder how he will transition to senior football. At the moment he has a tendency to accumulate his possessions out wide. He's a combination forward and midfielder at the moment but I have some doubts he can be a full time midfielder. His combine results might tell a better story but at the moment I'd have a few ahead of him. He could be ab bolter though.

You are correct, it's an AFL channel. The TAC coverage isn't in their scope.

Unless the AFL pay them to do so they would lose money. The AFL pay them to cover the National Championship but not the various state junior footy league finals.

..... If you like Darling however, a player from Gippsland to watch is No.4 Tim Membrey. He is a tad short being 188cm but knows where the goals are. He kicked 8 yesterday and practically put Power into the GF off his own boot. Excellent kick, great hands, has natural goal-sense and is a very smart footballer. I would not be against it if he was taken by us with one of our 2nd round picks.

Nick Stevens, the coach of the Gippsland Power was on SEN this morning talking about Membrey.
He said Membrey was Team Captain, rarely missed a shot at goal, was a ready-made AFL player and would develop into a high half forward.
Hopefully he lasts to mid-second round.

Now that the list looks to be basically sound, it would make sense to put some "icing on the cake."
A "Daisy" Thomas / Dyson Heppell type might just be the extra sparkle that we need.

Whilst I am a massive fan of Darling I am not interested at all in Stringer. He has been performing to the standard of a 2nd/3rd round player post injury and is still limping. He is also a selfish player and would perform poorly in our psych tests. Trust me, avoid Stringer. If you like Darling however, a player from Gippsland to watch is No.4 Tim Membrey. I would be appalled if our recruiters are saying, broken leg, unfit, has a limp = too risky because this is the same noises I heard from the club re Selwood. If they do their homework and say OUR medical evidence reveals that rehab will not allow him to perform at an elite level than so be it but do the homework! With respect your comments are at odds with many other current opinions who have him still as a high draft pick. The fact that an 18 year old is selfish means he gets a lot of the ball, and the terms selfish and extrovert are likely to have positive currency in 2013. Risk cuts both ways and the bigger risk may be the loss of an opportunity to take a player who was once considered a number one draft pick. Time will tell.

Hear hear. I'm no expert but I'd certainly like to know if Stringer's break was of the Newman clean cut variety or the Brown spiral nightmare.

We didn't actually have a chance to draft him, so who knows what would have happened had he been available, maybe it was all bluff. They did the exact opposite thing with Griffiths
