No doubt. But he was the only option to support a flagging Soldo. His ruck work is the one area where he shows improvement. He had to be used in that role to justify his selection IMO. He doesn't currently provide anything up forward. He is excellent below his knees, and his reflexes and hands are good. He plays like a midfielder. We don't need that from him. We need him to lead at the ball and take marks.Gawn is tough to bash into. Balta tried. Soldo tried. Soldo bashed into him a lot and he ain't no midget. A bit laughable to think Ben Miller was going to physically hurt Gawn. Miller is more the prancing, non-contact Tyrone Vickery type.
Gawn is the elite ruck of the comp. Soldo was huge in the first half but Gawn is a machine. Amazing runner & player for his size.
