Pick 53: Jack Graham

Im a latent Prestia fan, but I wonder if we had a crystal ball and saw we'd land this kid, if we would have changed our wish list (CHF anyone? ;D)

cant wait to see him on the big stage. 33 disposals in your 3rd? game against blokes wouldnt happen to often.

Especially after barely any pre season and a bunch of injuries..

He'd probably have more of an impact on the game than Corey Ellis would so id be tempted to give the kid a run very soon.

If we could have another crack, I would have rathered they go hard after Tom Mitchell, pick 6 for Mitchell and Nankervis would have been fair.

If he gets a couple more full games under his belt, I wouldn't mind seeing him come into the 22, though unlikely I think he could play with Prestia and Miles in the same team, no reason Jack can't spend time on a wing. Will be interesting to see how he does go with the much faster tempo of AFL

Everyone seems a bit excited for a guy that hasn't played. Surely there was a reason he fell so far.

Bit scrappy. Old-fashioned. Chubber with baby legs. Doesn't look the part. Few of the type make it. Absolutely certain to go late but not fall as far as rookie. Larke medal. Captaincy. Ballwinning. But 1000000/1 of going before #25.

The body. The athlete. The polish. Not a saleable package. Unfashionable. Injury-prone.

But. When right wiped the floor with the Vic Country midfield in the Champs. Matchwinner. SANFL reserves form very good. Ballwinner. Goes in. Gets it. Comes out with it. Uses it scrappily but usually well. Will chase. Will tackle.

How much did Takeover Target get in the sale yard, Jack?

Exactly, TBH.

BTW I'm sure Graham will be in the ones as soon as he demonstrate soundness. And he'll be staying there.

If his running capacity allows it bring him in now.

Yeah agree.

Bigger, faster, stronger and way more aggressive than C Ellis.

Both will drift in and out but I think Jack will have more impact in his bursts.

Why replace Miles?

The right action for us going forward as a club is for him to replace Grigg if anyone.

Grigg is one of our biggest Softies who avoids hard contact at all costs. He also panics under heavy pressure...hell, he even panics under little pressure!!!.

We've seen how the addition of Miles has benefited our quick outside runners.

If Graham comes up good together with Miles and Cotch inside, we will get first hands everytime.

Even BEllis and Houli will look like Superstars!

Graham's strength is he can run both ways. He is elite and with our fast ball movement and pressure inside forward 50 when the ball gets out Graham can get to contests quickly and do it all day massive in the context of our game plan. Getting his hands on the ball is important however his ability to run both ways is huge.

Keen to see Jack playbut let's wait and see how he progresses to AFL level before writing off other proven players.

Actually Ellis is taller although Jack is heavier. Think Ellis is a bit quicker too. However there is a massive difference in heart size apparently.

Jack to me elite or close to first his first 5-10m (burst acceleration). Very important for an inside/outside mid.

C Ellis is the definition of one paced.
