Pick 53: Jack Graham

I was at the game and watched Miles closely. He is a hard worker and more often than not he was at the bottom of the pack holding the ball in for us and saving Cotchin's body.

On the other hand, he was slow to release the ball when free and slow by foot. He has serious limitations, but maybe there are others who fumbled and butchered the ball all night whose selection should be reconsidered.

I think that they need to still experiment with the side so that IF we make the finals, we are not embarrassed in our first match. We need more skilled players in the team. We can't be complacent.

Or Grigg? I know Caddy is frustrating but he does a lot of hard body work, wins some tough contested ball up forward and in the middle. But Grigg? Did he go missing for half a game last night?

All Graham needs now is a "Don't Argue". Imagine him and Dusty motoring around on a fine September day

So, after another sound win without JR, who would you drop, given Bolton should go out for Jack if he's fit to play? Butler? Castagna? Maybe, but Graham is not a small forward. Possibly Prestia won't come up, but expected back, so that's another spot you have to find too.

To suggest he debuts to tag Mitchell is simply hilarious. So, good form in the VFL against the Roosters makes him equipped to match up on the highest possession-winning mid in the comp? Ahead of Miles or Prestia?

Are you a plant from the Dawks?

Are you fishing for a bite - me a dawks supporter :rofl - obviously don't read my posts.

I would love to see him get a game but as I said I can't see who he would replace at this point.

Also plenty of young players start out by getting a run with role on good players for parts of games - good way to excellerate their learning - is that really hilarious ?

Am unable to watch VFL games but from reports Graham is a bit special. Only a few games at VFL and already a standout. If he remains uninjured and continues to impress the coaches he could well be in the firsts towards seasons end. Looking forward to it

Certainly go along with your comments after watching yesterdays match. This comes from a fan of Grigg as well

Starting to wonder whether Graham might make his debut this season and, possibly, be a surprise packet for the finals. Seems he will, whenever he debuts, be a fine addition to the midfield adding some bigger body grunt to the engine room.

I'd bring him in this week for Grigg

Different roles. It's the Miles role he needs.

Right now Graham wouldn't be able to run more than 10kms.

Let him keep building, there is no rush. Prestia comes in this week for more midfield grunt.

But it's exciting to have a midfielder dominating the VFL that we actually drafted. Maybe there is something in this drafting mids idea.

Prestia may miss quite a bit of football. If Grahams GPS numbers are good then I'd bring him in against the Hawks.

If Graham is in Hardwicks calculations for finals then the fact the VFL has a bye this week may see him debut this week - unless the plan is to rest someone for the freo trip and take him to WA....

For those draft/junior watchers....if he is going to be as good as many are predicting, how come he lasted until pick 53?

Was already developed body wise. Clubs put off by no perceived upside. Plus he rushed his kicks so disposal efficiency was low. I liken it to Luke Parker and he went to Sydney for all the same reasons at pick #40.

But if you watched his tapes Graham got his hands the ball multiple times. Can't teach that but you can teach him not to rush his disposals.
