bullus_hit said:Wright can take a grab, he just doesn't hustle & bustle like a Roughie. If we overlook him for another vanilla, and then get caught with our pants down if Maric loses steam, the spotlight will firmly be on all our list managers. The clock is now officially ticking, we have 4 years to make a serious tilt, can't afford any missteps.
TigerForce said:Aren't Griffo, Vickery, Hampson, Beano, Elton and Soldo enough rucks for short-term?
could argue he'd be ahead of McBean based on size and seems to be a better kick than Hampson (wouldn't be hard) so only behind Vickery/Griffo at this stage?Baloo said:If Wright is better than that list, or even half that list, draft him and trade off one of the others down the track.

bullus_hit said:Wright is better than all of them, his ruck work is also being greatly undersold by the media, he's more than capable in the centre square and has the potential to be a very dangerous option in the forward line. It's not often we get the opportunity to draft a tall who's incredibly fit, quick and can kick like a true spearhead. The upside is huge, it has the potential to take us forward as a club. Mids are a dime a dozen, Peter Wright's fall into your lap once in a blue moon. Let's just hope that Wells is preoccupied with speed.
TigerForce said:So you think pick 33?
17 said:Indeed.
I think in the past Richmond on draft day have shown that when they have their heart set on a player, they don't have a coherent plan B when things go awry.
The classic was of course the total confusion Hawthorn caused us in 2004 with the Roughead spoiler.
Even last year when preferred pick Salem went and the boys plumped for Lennon smelt a bit like desperation.
The unanimous public declarations of "sticking to the plan" to drafting a midfielder do have me worried that if Wright falls to 12, we won't have the balls to ditch our "plan" and do the bleedin' obvious.
bullus_hit said:In a perfect world we get Wright at 12, McKenzie/Menadue at 33, Bampton at 52 & Daniel at 70. That's four holes addressed in one swoop.
TigerForce said:I'd say we'd lock in a mid at 12 and risk Wright at 33 (if the club thinks we need him)

Inspector said:Will Weller be still around at 12 barracked for the Tigers looks like a good prospect but better judges than me on here!
No love for Miller at 33?bullus_hit said:In a perfect world we get Wright at 12, McKenzie/Menadue at 33, Bampton at 52 & Daniel at 70. That's four holes addressed in one swoop.
