Pick 12 discussion.

Why not both ;D

Would be stoked to get 1 at this stage, with so many talls in the first round I hope the draft gods deal us a lucky hand.

I know Vickery trades have been done to death...but - I would think the opportunity to pick up 2 highly skilled, pacey, mid fielder/forwards may be a good reason to take the risk and trade into the top 10 with a second rounder as a sweetener? One can only dream!

Don't think we have any intention of offloading Vickery, my hope is we get what we want with pick 12.

Shifter Sheehan and Wallace just did a top 20 phantom draft on the TAC Cup Future Stars show.

They have Liam Duggan going to us at pick 11.

1. St K - Christian Petracca
2. Melb - Angus Brayshaw
3. GWS - Peter Wright
4. Bris - Patrick McCartin
5. WB - Jake Lever
6. Carl - Jayden Laverde
7. GC - Paul Ahern
8. Coll - Darcy Moore (F/S)
9. Adel - Sam Durdin
10. WCE - Jarrod Pickett
11. Rich - Liam Duggan
12. Freo - Kyle Langford
13. Geel - Caleb Marchbank
14. GC - Lachie Weller (compo pick)
15. NM - Ed Vickers-Willis
16. Port - Hugh Goddard
17. Haw - Tom Lamb
18. Syd - Issac Heeney (NSW Academy)
19. Ess - Clem Smith
20. GWS - Cory Ellis

That's yuk for us. Really yuk.

I still think Carlton try and get a key forward.

And Melbourne will have two picks. Not liking it that draft.

Agree, we already have Houli in the rebounding role, Duggan would be surplus to our requirements (especially if the Higgins rumour is correct). If it pans out like this then I'd just grab Weller, he may not be a superstar but you could bank on a lengthy career.

Duggan's been playing as a pure mid in the later part of the year and consistently racking up 25-30 touches and multiple goals. Can play.

Doesn't win enough contested ball for mine, ultimately he'll find himself on a back flank unless he improves his inside game. Those stats can be a little misleading, team mates look for him due to his excellent kicking, he has all the hallmarks of a Hurn, Suckling or Houli.

Yep, I'd roll the dice with a second rounder but not our first.

Gussy, what do you think of Miller? I like him a lot.

Touk? Great player. I think I mentioned earlier that I saw him as a late 2nd round selection and I'd probably still hold that view but he has a great attitude and should do well.

What am I missing? Sounds exactly like the type of player we need. We only have Rance and Houli who can rebound on a regular basis. Would have another highly skilled player in the back half.

Completely agree, particularly with Ellis graduating to the midfield and Vlastuin not really proving an adept rebounder at this stage.

Grab Higgins through free agency and get a pacy midfielder with pick 12. It's all about priorities at this stage and I think we need to invest a little bit more time into McIntosh.

I think Duggan's been wrongly typecast as your typical left footed, chip scap flanker. He's definitely got potential as a pure mid IMO, just a smart player with good skills and a good frame. Admittedly there are others I'd prefer at 12 (Weller, Laverde, Pickett) but he'd be a good get nonetheless. Adds a bit of polish.

Maybe, has improved his output late in the season but I don't see him doing enough damage in heavy traffic. He does his best work when given space, a wing or a flank seems the most likely scenario. He averaged 7.5 contested at the carnival which is acceptable but if we are looking at a well rounded midfielder at this pick then Weller seems the best fit (presuming Sheehan is on the money).

Hmmmmm :-X :-X :-X

What's the go with Damien Cavka? So far this finals series he has averaged 28 disposals and 4 goals per game.

He must be flying up the draft order.

Stocks would be rising, will be closely monitoring his sprint times.

Already has a massive tank. From what I have read his beep times are pushing 17. Looks like he is doing a Heppell / Sidebottom.
