Pick 12 discussion.

I doubt it, could be just nerves, the whole combine experience can be very intimidating.

have heard from a very reliable source that we are expecting to be picking from one of: Salem, Lennon & Freeman.

That is also the order of preference

That's about right, although Freeman represents a massive risk and doesn't strike me as an FJ selection.

My thoughts exactly. I reckon if Salem and Lennon are off the table and there aren't any obvious sliders we'll be looking at either Acres or Jones

If thats the case you dont think Dunstan would be on our radar?

Yeah I don't see why not, he's probably a bit one paced and has a pretty sloppy opposite foot, but pretty well fits our pillars of recruiting. Having said that I imagine we'd only take him if all of Salem, Lennon and Acres were off the table, and we may even take Jones ahead of him who can win his own ball but has slightly better skills and a bit more pace as well.

Make no mistake if Lennon is available at pick 12 he is ours.

We have made no secret about how impressed we were with him when he trained with us.

Loved Choccos comment.

Who was the player who tested poorly in the sprint times a few years back, and then they worked out he was starting with the wrong foot forward?

Dan Connors from memory.

Good article on the AFL website re Lennon, looms as a draft steal and mentions Richmond quite a bit at top of article and bottom too bout our first round draft successes over last 7 years...

The jungle drums are certainly beating.

From the naked eye, he's plays quicker and his far more agile than his testing suggests.

Concur, im dumb founded by his results, gotta say BH in games he looks sharp, quick and his reflexes are spot on....

At pic 12 Salem or Scharenberg are my preferred choices but i tell you im warming to Lennon can be a real weapon on the HFF with his strong marking and in an AFL environment he could well take his game to another level and play midfield regardless of current testing results....
Anyways we cannot go wrong with any of these 3...

All of Salem, Scharenberg & Lennon represent immediate needs and they are ready to roll in 2014. As for Lennon, his poor results could be a blessing in disguise, he's been top 10 all year and could drop out at the last minute. It wouldn't be the first time a poor combine has sent stocks plummeting, definite silver lining here.

Agree on all points and think we are quite fortunate that with the Bombers and Crows having no 1st round pics and North "father son" plus West Coast more than likely to pic Sheed, it has opened up for us to get our hands on a quality player 'most likely from those 3'...

warming to this bloke as a type we need. Given he trained with us, and the apparent disparity with the way the jnr watchers say he appears on-field, could his combine results have been a west coast'esque anomoly?

Is he anything like Daisy Thomas?

Noticed that Lennon has been retweeting and also having convos with a couple of the boys on Twitter.

Saw this on twitter and wondered if there's a connection as Lids and McBean were engaged in the chat, hope so the kid looks the goods and maybe just maybe tanked a little in the testing ;)

That thought has also entered my head.

When he trained with us least year, would the football staff have tested him out then?

We might have a pretty good idea of what he's capable of, and he might want to get to us.

Any of those Conca/Ellis/Vlastuin types available this year?

Yeah, Crouch. ;D

But I do so some patterns with our other picks. Crouch isn't overly quick, doesn't look like an exceptional athlete but just knocks up the footy. Not saying that he will or should be the pick but he has some very similar traits to Frank footballers.

Ben was here for a week earlier in the year with his AIS placement.
