Pick 12 discussion.

I liked, apologies, I forget who it was, thinking that when it looked like we landed Trengove that we made a strong move towards Ellis. revisiting him again, asking people questions about him etc, with the thought we'd end up with pick 23.

Someone like Ellis getting that sort of attention from us then can easily leak out as "RFC very keen on Ellis, gone to see him heaps of times" and thus the legend of Ellis to RFC takes hold and self perpetuates.

That, or we think he's a steal at 12 and we were wrapped to see he was still available at our pick.

If we use our powers of deduction and combine all the phantom drafts, Ellis is our 6th ranked player, presuming every journo is correct. Given that the rest of the competition doesn't have him in the top 16, it's either a case of FJ going completely bananas or we have been masterfully silent as to who we rate. One therefore has to ask the question, who at the club has made such a definitive statement? Are the journos simply regurgitating each others ideas? Why have we stated that we are hoping that 3-4 players drop out of the top 10?

This. The Ellis link could be just from prototype. And Ellis fits that mould.

Jay Clark and Sam Landsberger from the Herald Sun 'late mail update' on their Phantom Draft has Duggan slipping and Richmond taking him.

Have to think it's just between Duggan & Ellis.
Duggan first choice?

That was me - thought the play for Trengove & 23 for 12 and then look at Ellis. The club also made a play for Armatige so I'm guessing that was similar and involved pick 22.

i just wish the next 24 hours would go quickly because this is doing my head in

I do hope that if Ellis is picked then all Tiger supporters get behind him and the same goes for anyone we pick.

Agree fully but then we can look forward to why the hell didn't we take......instead of ..... threads for the rest of the pre-season.

Mushrooms n flamin hot chillies, what a wonderful combination.
Just read through Emma's phantom draft and the only valid thought I could gather from what she has written is that the draft is wide open from three onwards.
Roll of the first three, McCartin, Brayshaw, Petracca in whatever order you prefer, throw in Wright as a sneaky possible. From there on it's so n so club will pick him or maybe him or this him or someone else instead if he's available.
Reads like there's a very flat track n nothing of much difference between the first two dozen players this year. Pick for needs or guaranteed plug n play.
Just hoping who ever we pick doesn't get smashed by the all knowing punters n simply winds up being the best player of the whole draft in a couple of years.

;D yes.

Not much pressure on Ellis if he gets picked !!!!!!

Reading all these phantom drafts shows me no one really has any idea.

Gut feel says Garlett could be our man.

Let's hope FJ can stutter:

Gill: Pick 12 Richmond

FJ: Player number 376439 Co-co-co-co-co-co-co-connor Blakely.
;D

I know not too many would, but I'd be happy!
Regardless of where he ends up, there's always a couple of players who you continue to follow with interest, and for me Blakely's one of them. He reminds me a lot of Jordan Lewis, who after controlling his psychotic onfield tendencies earlier on, has turned into one of the toughest, uncompromising, team oriented competitors in the AFL. Peter Crimmins medal winner in a premiership year. No frills. Mr 100%.

Pace is the criteria so I reckon Weller, Blakely, Laverde or even D McKenzie could be our 1st pick.

I actually want Garlett for the laughs it will create watching everyone back track on FJ picking the 'vanilla' types.

Rosy is going to have one busy night tomorrow. The ferals will be out in force.

I couldn't actually give a rats who we pick. It's what we do with them once we've got them that is important.

This is a long-term investment for us. It's like making that headache decision on if you should or shouldn't invest big money.

FJ's probably got security cops patrolling his home by now. Our picks are in the vault.... ;D

I just hope Ellis is NOT our pick, but if he is, we must accept........groan.

When there is smoke there is fire....Ellis will be a Tiger tomorrow.

Let's hope the kid doesn't jump on any Richmond forums. ;D

I'd be happy with Ahern, Gore, Howe and Saad. With Daniel and Yarran for rookies. Saw a bit of Yarran watching late night WAFL games on the ABC. Was distinctly a cut above most at that level. And real quick too.

Being a Keilor local now, I've asked a few in the know at the club about the 4 boys this year and the concencus seems to be the Ellis is the best. These guys have coached and watched Ellis, Laverde, Ahern & Cavka since juniors. I don't profess to know them well but happy to back Ellis if he comes to Tigerland.
