My conclusion, it is merely Organised Religion of all types that separates, isolates and conflicts people.

Protestantism v Catholicism
Muslim v Christianity
Muslim v Hinduism
Muslim v Judaism
Muslim v Buddhism
Catholicism v Judaism
Confucism v Buddhism
Have I missed anyone?

Yes.
Atheists v All Religions.

Thanks for sharing that, tigersnake – great clip - that’ll be my son’s history lesson for tonight.

That Utube is a tragicomedy snake. Best description of the arab/jewish hatred ive seen.

While we are on history, check this out of todays AGE

A laser toting AutoBot in the Russian Revolution! I laughed out loud in sort of an ironic anxiety attack as I imagined the interpretations the poor history students were coming up with of the Autobot. Imagine the poor kids seeing the AutoBot and freaking out and thinking "I must have missed the chapter on alien robots in the 1917 russian revolution, oh well, time to roll the dice and make something up about post modernism and alternate narratives"

Weeell, splitting hairs, Buddhism is classed as a religion, and in it's purest, original form is atheistic.

Yes.

A very good example would be the Stalinism of the 1930s & 40s.

No, that would be dialectical materialism vs religion in that case. Atheism in communism is incidental.

A friend offered this up from youtube.

I don't know how factual this graphic is, but it was on the internet so it must be true.

Considering that the West Bank was annexed by Jordan from 1948-67, and Gaza annexed by Egypt from 1948-67 (except a few months), it's probably disingenuous to say they were Palestinian during that period.

The expansion also implies that Israel was 100% the aggressor, which isn't really true - more the case that it was the victor.

In a neighbouring dispute, I found a BBC report relevant, relating to division amongst Syrian rebels and as to their objectives.

Some back a European-assisted coalition.

Others want to set up their own non-western Islamic state.

it was a story about israeli security forces arresting palestinian kids (as young as 5) in the middle of the night and beating/threatening/blackmailing them in unaccompanied interrogations for the sake of intelligence gathering. absolutely shocking.

Wow, that is appalling!

I've never been a big fan of the workings within Israel, but never thought that would go on.

Never realised this until now, though many of you probably do.
Remember the Entebbe raid rescue.
The Israeli commander killed in the action, back in 1976, was Col. Yonatan "Yoni" Netanyahu, brother of current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Rather unsubtle attempt at pro-heroic IDF propaganda there Phantom.

I actually took more of a "this could be a reason he is causing what the IDF/ Mossad are doing" thought from Phantom's post.

A big Smith's chip on Netanyahu's shoulder?

You do realise they are 'now' probably monitoring this thread Antman? And if you keep up that line, with regards to Phantom's 'leanings', they will soon be sending a crack troop's commander to give Phantom his very own IDF emblazoned yamaka. ;D

Read the history of Netanyahu's father and you will understand more of the man.
