Well done Anna Meares, beating her great rival Victoria Pendleton to win Gold! :clap

I agree that was great to watch. I enjoyed that more than the fantastic result by Sally Pearson this morning. Well done girls :clap

Guess it comes down to how many millions of taxpayers dollars we are prepared to spend to win gold medals to make us feel good about ourselves for a few days every four years while scoffing down fast food and pepsi.
true. The reality is that most aussies don't care that much except for that 2 weeks every 4 years.

I think the disappointing thing more than anything, especially with swimming, is the lack of personal bests or even best times for the past 12 months. I'd take Steve Solomon's efforts and rank them higher than most of the silvers we won in the pool because he ran his guts out and posted 2 times faster than he's ever run before.

Well done Sally!!! :clap

It was great to see the swimming girls cheering on Anna Meares and all hugging her after she won.

Bloody great to see.

I've really been getting into the water polo. It's a great game to watch.

Aussies vs USA womens just starting. Should be a gem

God that is a tough game. Their control of the ball while getting dunked, kicked under water and having to tread water is quite amazing really.

Yep,great support there. :clap

Terriffic win by Meares.I thought she may have been beaten as the Pom's have been dominating, but she never looked like losing.

Brilliant stuff by Meares and Pearson. :clap

And we finally get ahead of the Kiwi's! ;D

Boomers will beat the USA.
Sam Rice is keeping Coby Bryant company and hopefully a few late nights!
Keep up the good work Sam.

we need a few more girls concentrating on the rest of the US team, and it still wouldn't change the inevitable. big loss our way.

yeah, it is tough as eh. Particularly for the centre forward. It seems like just a constant 8 minutes of getting drowned and bathers pulled up your crack, 5 minutes rest then back in for another 8 minutes.

I thought Anna Mears gold was particularly impressive. That 'queen Victoria' is a very talented sportswoman. To beat her on her home turf in front of a screaming crowd when her entire team is on a roll was one of the great Olympic victories of all time I reckon.

How did Australia go in the synchronised swimming?

Not sure ToO!
How is synchronised swimming an Olympic sport anyway?

Who goes to the pool to do synchronised swimming?

May as well make Pinball an Olympic sport.

Anna Meares you star what a magic performance, and Super Sally you ripper !!!!!!!!!!

Two dead set professional sports superstars.

I don't see why it isn't. Table Tennis and Pinball: the two great drunken sports you can play with your mates down in the rumpus room.

Pool-especially with a lean toward one end pocket?

On aserious note it is hard to find replays of events on line.

Yep. Got to be a place for overweight, beer swilling, chain smoking athletes in amongst all of the other finely tunes Olympians. Need to give the common man something to strive for!
