Olympics 2012 - London

The team in general should take a look at Sally Pearson and watch how she goes about it. No distractions, no big noting herself, total professionalism, she just trains her arse off, and then goes out there and does what she does best better than anyone else. Her trackside interview was fantastic, too.
I'm so pleased that Anna Meares finally got an Olympic victory over Pendleton before Pendleton retires and robs her of the opportunity, too.

Yep. Got to be a place for overweight, beer swilling, chain smoking athletes in amongst all of the other finely tunes Olympians. Need to give the common man something to strive for!

Here here! :hihi

there was only 1 aussie that i really, desperately wanted to see win a gold medal and that was sally. how adorable is she?

Well put Ian shes a ripper great sportsmanship to and humble just the way us Aussies like our champions.

On the other hand good to see Steph Rice working on her PR CV seeing her swimming careers over, the quintissential look at me girl.

Sullivan, Wolfman, Quade Cooper, Michael Phelps now Kobe shes certainly working her way up the ladder whos next the Dallas Cowboys or Barcelona FC. :p

Personally can't see too much wrong with Rice or any of her actions. Pretty tough when you are the fourth best in the world at something but people deem it a failure.

She was sitting next to him at the athletics doesn't mean she hooked up with Kobe.
Geez some people talk crap.

Nice visualisation of where Usain Bolt sits in the history of the 100m sprint.

Damn the water polo, got sucked in with aussies leading the Serbs 8-5 only to see them overrun. The refs treated the Aussies like the tigers have been treated in some games- woefully

Channel 9 sank to new depths this morning in the coverage of the Boomers-US game. The ads between quarters went on forever. They returned a couple of minutes into the quarter. Commentators generously gave a quick rundown on highlights the viewers had missed. Total contempt for the audience. Its as if their philosophy is 'oh well everyone will be streaming via internet soon so we may as well milk the bejesus out of it while we can'.

Sports I haven't seen during this Olympics (no Foxtel)
Weightlifting
Boxing
Table Tennis
Soccer
Archery

and I have been watching every night and all over the weekend. I'll need to start saving for Rio 2016 Fox$$$tel

Aussies unfortunately got overrun by Serbia in the men's water polo after leading until part way into the final qtr.

A brutal sport water polo...would love to see some underwater vision of what goes on.

I've been interested in the men's hockey. Rick Charlesworth has to be one of the best coaches of a team game going around. The guy's got that team playing with absolutely no mercy. In both their games they've been well on top, but have been giving it everything right until the final siren to win by more. The Tigers could learn some lessons from that. Don't ever stop putting on the pressure, once you get someone down, you keep them there. Maybe next season we could convince Charlesworth to impart some of his knowledge and philosophy on what it takes to be a successful team to Richmond.

Germany rolled them 4-2.

Game over.
US put on a clinic in the second half, setting screens and having open threes at will.
Used dirty tactics on Cambage though.

Good effort, didn't think they would get near it.....score doesn't do justice.

lost by 13.
