NRL

Yeah agreed Mb but a side still taking the field with Barrett, Seymour, Pommeroy, Covell, Gallen, Maitua and Tupou should be performing much better than they are.

Thanking the Dragons and Dogs for saving my tips think i ended up with 4 :p

You forget they're being coached by Ricky Stuart

As expected Mick Crocker has signed with Souths, the real shock is Souths have given him a 4 year deal which is crazy for a player who had alot of injuries.Good luck to him though,Storm have missed him.

Huge loss to Storm but going forward Mick isnt worth 4 years imo 2 would be a good starting point but hes after long term financial security so his manager has bent over the Bunnies and once again as they did with Widders, Kidwell, Peachey, the Bunnies have gone a bit too hard at as player nearing the twighlight for mine.

Great player Crock absolutely but good luck to him, i was hoping hed return to Storm but it is all about the allmighty $.

Agree Craig,Crocker's body has been battered & the bunnies are bunnies for giving him a 4 year deal.

yeah surprised the Bunnies have given him 4,

Aussies to beat kiwis fairly easily,

Apart from the Aussies looking better on paper, they tend to gel together in these one off games alot better than NZ, who almost always seem a bit disjointed,

NZ for some reason, tend to be a major threat to the aussies towards the end of a series, , where they seem to build momentum through playing and training together , as evident in the world cup, and the last few tri-nations.

In yesterday's games Knights beat Titans which is no surprise but in a form reversal Manly beat the Broncos to get their season back on track.Unfortunately it might be the turning point for them.

Storm beat the Roosters 28-12 in bundy night footy.Solid performance by my boys with 8 players backing up from Friday night games.

Looks like Reg Reagan has got himself into a spot of bother. :grouphug

Nine set to punt him.
In talks with 9 management now.Haven't seen the 4 corners program but I here it is pretty damning.A question I have is why haven't the other Sharks' players been named?

I saw enough of the 4 corners show the other night to suspect that this will damage the NRL terribly. I'm not an overly sensitive person and not prone to passing judgement on others but even I was freaked out by some of the incidents recounted. Something has to change before they lose every female supporter of the game.

Matt Johns interview on 9.Whilst his bahaviour was unacceptable he has been left to carry the can & the other players involved have not been named & shamed.

Agreed.
I won't judge him on what he's done either but the fact is as a media person and face of the NRL he's more accountable for his behaviour than most. The NRL and 9 will not want to alienate the female audience and what Johns has been part of clearly ain't all that appealing to many. That's why he's likely been sacked, not for the act itself. By 'outing' him for want of a better word, the Four Corners program has pretty well wrecked his media career. In the short term at least.

For Channel 9 to sack him (and maybe the Storm as well)...its a joke.

If he didn't do anything illegal then what is the problem?

And like you said mate....he wasn't the only participant..there wer a few other blokes...and the sheila herself.

Plus its 7 years ago, FFS.

I've dealt with David Gyngell and he's a better bloke than most in TV land. He's also one of John's mates and biggest supporters so he won't have been reactionary in making this decision. It will have been a hard call. Even though what John's did wasn't illegal Gyngell will be worried about how it will will effect perceptions & ratings of the female viewing audience not just for the footy show/NRL games but the entire network. Not to mention 9's relationship with the NRL.

With 9's ratings already copping a hiding IMO it's just too hot right now for them not to do this..

Besides the thing is they have said is that they have have stood him down 'indefinitely'. That gives them an out at any point they like to reinstate him and given he's one of their biggest drawcards they'll no doubt now be figuring out a ways to get this all to go away.
