Well done to Steve,he'll do a good job.

Apparently Bennett recommended him,

The kiwis were chasing Bennett hard, for the top job,

And he said it should go to Kearney because he is a NZer, and he will gladly assist him with technical advice.

Good move all round I reckon,

Agree,Kearney is a good & popular choice & will land an NRL job in the near future or take over from Bellamy in 2011

Kearney was being looked at by the Doggies, as is Bennett, although the dogs dont want Bennet cos he is not media friendly ..................... like Steve Folkes is media friendly :headscratch

Think Doggies will chase Kearney & Bennett will head to Cowboys.

Reckon its pretty safe to say the Knights and the Dragons will be up for new coaches unless miracles happen also.

Knights are history until they get rid of Little Hittler

But Steve Folkes is a favourite son, big diff with the dogs.

Change of subject, Falou reckons he is'nt going anywhere, wants to stay in Melb and continue to be coached by Bellamy.

If the Storm can somehow keep their young backline starts together, Cronk, Slater, Inglis, Folou, etc , the club should remain a strength for some time.

All is sweet in the Hunter...... there is peace in the Valley again.

Watch for Buderus, Gidley, Mullen and Naigama to run riot behind a monster pack this year.

There will be peace when they git rid of little hittler.

Cowboys have confirmed Graham Murray will not coach them from 2009 onwards.Murray has every right to feel disappointed with this as his record up north is very good.Cowboys seem to want Bennett.

Maybe the Storm can get Murray after the Broncos hijack Bellamy when his contract runs out.

The Broncos want Bellamy and i reckon the next Broncos coach may just be killing time until they get Craig.

Only the appointment of a Broncos legend may assist the Broncos not happily cutting ties with their next coach.

Murray is a good coach and he will no doubt be snapped up by another club.

If i was him id have my manager getting familiar with the Dogs, Dragons and Knights administrations.

I think the Cowboys missed there best chances at a title over the past 2-3 years.

They have been hurt by indifferent output from their forwards especially the likes of Southern, Faiumu, Tronc and injuries to O Donnell and Webb.

The retirement of Paul Bowman will be a big loss too for the Cowboys especially in defence.

Good post Craig, would think Murray will be coaching in Sydney or Newcastle next year.

Very interesting move by Melbourne Storm :clap

THE New South Wales Central Coast has plenty of appeal.

A sub-tropical climate and endless sandy beaches, a growing population of more than 300,000 that is mad about sport, and a world-class sports arena, Bluetongue Stadium.

Yet, despite all this, it is without an NRL presence.

Which is why Melbourne Storm is trying to cash in on the region.

Storm yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its brand nationally when it announced sponsor Medibank Private would be jumping on board its affiliate, the Central Coast Storm.

The Storm will have six teams competing under its banner on the Central Coast this year.

There are five junior representative teams, ranging from under-12s to under-18s, as well as a team in the NSW Premier League, coached by former Melbourne forward Jamie Feeney.

They will be based at the club's Mt Penang headquarters, also home to the NSW Country Rugby League, which the Storm recently funded to upgrade the changerooms and gym.

It is understood Melbourne has invested around $500,000 in the region.

Its reward should come from the emergence of talented juniors. The region has a junior rugby league base of more than 4000 players.

"It's a rugby league stronghold," Storm chief executive Brian Waldron said yesterday.

"Our No. 1 focus has always and will always be to grow the game in Melbourne and Victoria. To grow our brand nationally we need to seek markets where we can expand our supporter base."

A host of premiership players and coach Craig Bellamy joined businessman and supporter of all things Central Coast, John Singleton, at yesterday's sponsor's lunch in Gosford for tonight's trial against Manly at Bluetongue.

Singleton desperately wants the Central Coast to have a NRL team of its own.

He narrowly lost out to the Gold Coast Titans, which secured the NRL's 16th licence in the last expansion.
