Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

If he's got good agility and is good below his knees he could play the Grigg role in time.

I'd be curious to know what his tank is like as we don't normally draft guys who can't run.

I didn't realise he's such a great kick off both feet either.

He is the best all round talent package for a tall I have seen at Richmond since Richo, and he can kick like a mule as well. Has to learn to play the game AFL style still but the talent is immense.

Not ready but will play in 2019 . Back, forward, wing it doesn't matter

Got it in a nutshell there Sin

Dropped in and watched the vfl for about an hour before going to the G yesterday.

Did anyone else witness the run from halfback, hand pass receive, a bounce or two and the kick over the umpires hat in the 3rd from Balta ?

2019 is when we will see him playing afl but every time I see him play I get excited

Is super exciting but give the kid a chance to continue to develop without too many expectations. Have seen a bit of him and rate him highly but needs a lot of work on building his tank - gets the blows very quickly after a maximum effort.
Fairly sure he will become a very good player but try to temper the hype.

Admittedly difficult when you witness that very good goal in the 3rd quarter!

Happy days.

Don’t want him playing in the ruck, an certainly do it , however increases the risk of injury and his to important to our future

I would agree that Balta blows hard, (but this is because of his work rate), I don't think he is that deficient in his tank, for a first year player, at 195cm, Balta covers a lot of ground pretty much at maximum effort for most of his TOG. I wish every player was blowing hard when they come to the bench.
Happy for him to develop further at VFL level, but he has exceeded my 1st year expectations so try as I might I can't temper the hype ;D

Did you copy and paste that from the McBean thread?

Not from any of my posts Baloo, I always said McBean was a talented lurker

This bloke has plenty of things McJesus never had but there is of course no guarantee he will make it either. He still has to work hard to get there but when you see his talent live, the way he moves and the way he kicks the ball it is very exciting

Whats the chances of Balta being a finals bolter?

Better than most would assume, the Richmond brains-trust know fully well we get picked apart when Nank is benched so it wouldn't surprise to see Noah trialed in the role that Soldo was played in.

13.4 beep is reasonable for a bloke his height & weight, lifting that to 14 very achievable.

I like your bullishness bully, but surely we couldn't throw a fast, skilled FYP into the ruck against seasoned beasts like Grundy, Dixon, Gawn, Simpson etc? Can't see that happening.

Would only need to pinch hit, maybe 7-8 ruck contests a match, we just need to break-even here. It's embarrassing watching guys like Grigg, Bolton & the Invisible Man contesting in the ruck.
