Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Is this the kid who had talent in spades but the question was his mental strength to cope with life as an afl player?

Has always wanted to be an AFL footballer, there were rumours pre-draft about his ego but I take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks. All of the greatest AFL players have a healthy ego. That's why they are crap media pundits.

Yes, Baloo. They become bitter to top their deluded.

Would only need to pinch hit, maybe 7-8 ruck contests a match, we just need to break-even here. It's embarrassing watching guys like Grigg, Bolton & the Invisible Man contesting in the ruck.

Hardwick's clear response on the backup ruck question indicated that he's all-in on the 1 ruck bandwagon. Values the benefits of an additional runner more than what's lost.

Since the 2nd ruck role isn't valued, could Balta's rucking experience at VFL level right now be because he's seen as a potential injury cover for Nank this year?
Normally 1st ruck would be beyond any teenager, but given our pressure setup at stoppages and acceptable of the opposition winning first touch, would it be an option in an emergency scenario?

I wouldn't be playing him first ruck, that's a bit too much for a first year player. I would consider playing him in McIntosh's role where he can use his other attributes.

He will take McIntosh's role next year. Can provide the same output and the potential is a million times better. Perfect role to start with.

Soldo as the 1st ruck then. I'd love to see Balta in McIntosh's role, he'd ultimately be a relief ruck who doesn't also need to play as a tall forward like most other relief rucks in the AFL. Balta's versatility allows us to keep our current structure.

There is no reason why Balta couldnt come into the team and play a role similar to McCartin is doing at Sydney

But im hoping he doesnt have to for another year and gets groomed for the McIntosh / Grigg Role if Lynch is infact a Richmond player next year

Elliot Yeo plays a very interesting position where he runs between HB & HF and Does alot of Damage that Balta could play

Dropped in and watched the vfl for about an hour before going to the G yesterday.

Did anyone else witness the run from halfback, hand pass receive, a bounce or two and the kick over the umpires hat in the 3rd from Balta ?

2019 is when we will see him playing afl but every time I see him play I get excited
Yep saw that looked super silky plenty of size about him already.

Check out RFC website for vision of the "new" Jacob Townsend.
Can play anywhere and do anything

Love the kid, Cant wait until he is playing in the seniors

Give him the #13 about time that number went to a decent player

People are wanting him to fill in McIntoshs and Griggs positions, but those 2 are serious gut runners.

Is Balta know for his aerobic capacity?

Grigg runs hard to get the pil. Runs slower than my Grandma when the opposition has it

13.4 beep at junior level so not too shabby for a big fella, I'd expect that to be 14 now.

If this kid dosent become a star, we should just trade away every pick we ever get in the future.
He has shown more then Elton, Griffens, Vickery, Francis, Homewood, Elser, Hughes, Pattison, Post all put together.

Jeez when he puts the peddle down in that highlight clip, he really seems to get to top speed quick.

Has an extraordinary toolkit. Hope he does a reasonably patient and thorough apprenticeship with Fly and then is unleashed in 2020.
