Nick Vlastuin

I reckon Vlastuin's done very well so far.

We need rebounding HBFs desperately. This boy already does well there at 20yo and will only get better. But it will take time.

He'll have his ups and downs, but can't wait to see his stats when he fully clicks.

Yes, He will be a very good player for us.

IMO his future is in the guts. He is not ready yet but he will be so I suspect he will rotate off half back and on the ball.

We knew that prior to his drafting, his tank was only average as a junior and he was only expected to make incremental gains over his first few seasons. He will be fine in the long run, still on a steep learning curve.

As much as id like to see him make it to luke hodge heights, i see him more as a Brad Sewell type. A more than handy midfielder who will play a solid 200 games.

Looks ok eh ToO?

We can only hope he enjoys the same finals success.

I don't really understand any worries regarding Vlas. I remember everyone saying he was our best player at the half way point of the season we were shithouse.

Me either. Is hard at it, a good reader of the ball, has excellent disposal skills and best of all is a great decision-maker. Least of our worries.

Was just going to post the same. I'm probably least worried about Vlas of any RFC player.

Hmm, he was 15th on PRE voting ladder after Round 10.

Hoping that Nick can take the next step and become a genuine inside midfielder were I think he plays his footy, with Jackson retiring he should be staring round 1 in the centre square.

Cross between Hodge & Diesel.

Only on PRE. :hihi

How often does it have to be pointed out that no one has ever said he'll be that good. It's simply a game style comparison. Or should we never compare players unless they're on absolute equal footings?

In the absence of ready made midfielders landing on our doorstep during trade week, Nick is one player we rely heavily on to take the next step, along with the likes of Conca.

I think he can do it.

Huge overs ain't it? How about he gets the ball 20 times a week to start with before we start comparing to the best centre man of the last 40 years and the one of the greatest finals players of all time.
