Has all the tools to be very good and is as hard as any going around, I just feel he needs a bit more whit line fever and to be in games more. Like most I like the move into the midfield but I think he may be best suited as a half back, in saying that I'd keep persisting with midfield time, in saying that has to lift in there

He certainly seemed lost when resting forward yesterday CC. Needs time.

Dirty day yesterday.

Free kicks against including the 50m penalty dissapointing but at least fixable.

Still like him as a mid/fwd.

We've got a few promising half backs coming through. The pressure should be on Flossy based on his current output.

Didn't realise he made so many tackles, i didn't notice him too much tonight.

Looked spent after a couple of chases in the first half so I'm not sure that he has the fitness to be a full time midfielder. But it is worth persisting with him there for the meantime.

Just wish he would back himself to take the shot on goal more often. Despite resulting in a goal, that pass to Edwards (2nd quarter, i think) had my heart in my mouth, and really didn't improve the distance or angle much that he had in the first place.

Don't know what to make of his game tonight, and I don't really know what to make of him period.

11 touches, only 3 contested (AFL website).

He had the lowest CP number for Richmond, while only 4 Carlton players had less with 2 contested possessions - Thomas, Curnow, Pickett, and Armfield.

Overall, Vlastuin finished equal 37th (along with Carlton's White and Macreadie) out of 44 players for contested possessions while playing as an inside midfielder.

Sort of confirms what I thought watching him live. Cheers X-Pac.

Aka PRE-go-away heat :gotigers

Ps. Only 1 clearance to Vlastuin, equal to Griffiths, Houli, Butler, and Ellis (all of whom had more CPs).

Astonishing stats for a top 10 draft pick in his 5th year as an inside midfielder.

Miles in, Vlastuin back, Hunt out.

Copped a bit knock from Casboult (bump to the head which will get Casboult some MRP time). Lacked a bit of touch. I'm not sure he's a mid. Play him back where he is more comfortable and reliable for the team.

Was gonna post this.

No where near good enough. Vlastuin looks like he should be a contested beast with his body, but he's poor in contested situations. He also can't get his hands free in tackles to release the handball. My pet hate for mids.

Back to HB and MUST play Miles vs Pies or we'll get mauled.

I too am nowhere near convinced he will make the transition to a midfielder.
Tackles were good but he looked slower than Miles and didn't win any of his own ball.
Looked immediately more comfortable when he went back to HB late in the game.
Get the sense he is what he is but deserves a little more time to prove otherwise yet..

I liked Richmonds Greatest Love Machine's game.

He got absolutely polaxed at the first bounce, but still worked his arse off.

his mark and goal was really, really good.

serious tough prick, who belongs in the guts IMO.

I disagree, I think Vlastuin is great in contested situations just doesn't get to enough of em. I just don't know what the coaches are doing to him. He's totally lost int he forward line. They finally gave up on this in the last quarter, put him in the backline and he thrived. In fact 3 disposals out of defensive 50 in 1 quarter (the highest for the night was 4). We have such issues filling those back spots trying out the likes of Hunt, Conca, McIntosh and we have a guy who plays it very well forward doing stuff all but tackling. I don't get it.
