It is and I have another one

How about " should Damien Hardwick be our Coach " ? We haven't discussed that one very much yet

A focus on specifics is more revealing, I reckon, Sin. Of the thinking of each of the thinkers. In this case Leysy and TOT.

Only explanation I have is that we saw enough of him in the middle to know that's his go but we are saving it up for next year given we knew we were a long shot this year at that time?

good thinking by dimma. we'll catch the unsuspectung opposition by surprise next year

The below is what I remember about Vlastuin being in the midfield! Such a waste in the backline. Really hope this kid gets mid time in 2017 and not just here and there.

Unbelievable handball from Edwards in that clip as well. Where has that gone this year?

Edwards hasnt looked a shadow of himself since that collarbone injury earlier in the year. Not sure if he is still carrying something or if it is a confidence thing.

Just get Vlossy into the guts and let the kid play footy! No need for him to be across half back anymore. Yarran, Houli and even Lids can do that with Shorty, Hunt and McIntosh. Time for the kids to take on the game again like they were a few years back.

Think you have hit the nail on the head, we had a need for him at halfback this year. I hope with Houli, Markov, Short, Yarren and co fit and available next year we can get more value from Vlossy running through the midfield. He certainly showed flashes when given the opportunity, tank could be a problem and he looks a bit one paced to add to that issue. as part of the rotation though definitely worth persisting with, taking long term view.

Have a look at this.

Mentions Luke Ball & Brad Sewell as the player he wants to be.

That is not the player we have now.

With the right role and time to grow into it I have no doubt he will. 2017 is the start!

that nail on the head doesnt explain why he hasnt been given more of a go since it was clear a few weeks ago our season was over.

'lacks a little bit of zip and needs to work on his tank'..

Still holding him back from a midfield role? You'd think Miles would be the one he'd replace.

Scoops clip is damning.

Our coach has hamstrung so much natural talent but this guy us the worst example.

"I base my game being in and under like Luke Ball and Brad Sewell". This is from the Vic Metro captain.

Yet has never ever been given a chance to show that in a team so bereft of strong inside mids we've had to resort to contracting chumps like Andrew Moore and Jacob Townsend for the role.

Only under ol mate Dimmer.

Btw that lack of zip doesnt wash given the other guys who we recruited for the position ToO.

Nor does the fitness aspect given he hasnt had a chance to develop his tank in there.

Disgraceful lack of foresight from a coach unable to think ahead.

Disgrace.

Certainly has deserved more chances to prove himself in there.

The other thing is the more time he spends away from there the harder it will be for him to pick it up again.

Not fair on Nick.

Don't get me wrong I want Nick in the guts but it is interesting that in the pre draft video he is stated to be Northern Knights half back Nick Vlastuin

Well said Leysy.

Like i have mentioned previously he is Hardwicks security blanket down back.

Vlastuin in his earlier days was having stints in the guts and was quite effective.

Not too mention this year when he played that one game in the guts, did exceptionally well, got praise from Hardwick but was never seen to play there again.

Jackson clearly stated when we drafted him that he was seen in the long term to be a midfielder. Not a half back flanker.

I guess we need to repeat the facts. He was badly injured pre tac season, ankle I think, and came back and played hbf. There were a couple of games where he dominated disposal wise when he was given runs in the middle. He played all his junior career in the midfield.

Embarrassing display from Nick so far.

Getting lead to the ball every time.

And he looks far too chubby & slow.

Trade.

I thought he was meant to be our inside mid of the future. DUD.
