Neil Craig

Would be wrapped to get Neil Craig. He is the kind of man we need. He will bring more structure to our game plan and just be a fresh pair of eyes of which we need. A great addition. Got a lot of respect for him. Speaks well and honest. Just the kind of character which Richmond are finally looking for in our admin, coaching and playing group.

Also he has a close relationship with Patty Dangerfield. Who knows, when Dangerfield becomes uncontracted this may help us get him.... you never know. Patty wants back i Melbourne, we may just be the place for him!

I'd be happy with him being at the club as long as he wasn't trying to become too involved in game plan development. Sure, he will provide a few fresh ideas that may complement what is already in place, but his gameplan for Adelaide proved a flawed when it came to playing finals football. A good mate who supports the Crows had been complaining for several years prior to this that the Crows would go nowhere with Craig at the helm. He was totally inflexible - there was no plan B.

Dimma is still an unknown quantity on game day - slow to react, or deliberately delaying moves in order to see how the boys cope when the pressure is on?

They guy is brilliant at producing fine athletes and being a good people person. For these reasons he would prove invaluable to Richmond should they go down that path (although Matt Hornsby may become a little uncomfortable...). He also has lots of experience which Dimma and the assistant coaches could absorb.

My understanding is that they've been coaching to implement a game plan rather than concentrate on what the opposition is doing. That will change next year. So you are right that we will get a better idea of Dimma as a game day coach next year

Also for that reason Craig will be a good addition as well as the other attributes he brings to the table.

I wonder if we get Craig whether that would open the door for Dangerfield to come to Richmond seeing as he's stated he rates him so highly, even if that may have been a get out of jail card.

Like the Wallace and Nathan Brown package deal. ;D

I'd take Danger. Wonder if his kicking issues are a result from injuries etc. I'd give up the compo for him.

I really hope that we get Craig, I can only think of positives he would bring to the club. It would also be a very positive sign for the club if someone like Craig wanted to come and work for us.

I don't think it will be a negative impact upon Matt Hornsby, in fact I reckon it will be the opposite. NC has trained GF teams, Hornsby hasn't..I am sure he can learn something from him.

On the development side, NC could have a real impact in this area either as setting the schedule or working individually with some of the kids.

IMO only good can come from his appointment - hopefully imminent.

If confirmed then this is immensely positive. Beyond his technical skills which are exciting given our history of turning out olive oils and not brutuses, I think his personality will compliment the "family" style club that Dimma is after and really add to the culture around the club for the players. In this new era of two more clubs hunting players and free agency - a premiership could come down to having a culture players, inside and outside of the club, want to be a part of.

Grant Thomas is tweeting that Craig is going to be director of football at teh Dees with Burns as coach.

Good combo for Melbourne.

Hope we are still in the mix. He is worth fighting for.

Parrott puts pressure on G Lyon regarding this.

The silly season hasn't even started and this year it is already going *smile*. All this tweeting and what not is a little annoying. Everyone wants to be a "news breaker"

i think some of the reporters are clutching at straws...

NC interesting to see if he ends up at the Dees...no

Rocket Eade seems to have dropped off the radar. I am sure the Saints will speak to him

All aboard the coaching merry-go-round.

Maybe the Dee's will end up with Harvey :hihi
