Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

His disposal was well below AFL standard & was dropped,as a club the bar has to be raised in this area.

I believe he offers more than Grigg and Petterd, in spades. Even it is a break even with them as far as effectiveness, his 10 years of effort, particularly in the lean years, deserved the reward over them. You get over yourself!

Further, how many 4 quarter games does Tucky have under the belt? Foley at least would have been a match fit sub, in te event of an early injury.

Foley over Petterd especially was and still remains a no brainer, especially against a team whose recent history is to literally overrun us. A very bad selection. And you're right even if it were a line ball decision, a decade of service should have meant something. Would not blame him for a moment if he wants out at the end of the season.

Foley will stay. Achilles are tough to overcome when you are a mid-field runner. Roughy is a forward come ruckman so doesn't run the km's Axel does during a game so his Achilles injury didn't impact his ability to play his role as much as Axel's has done to him.

He struggled this year to have an impact but just being able to play top level footy again was a bonus for us. Fingers crossed Axel does a full preseason this time round which hopefully has him back to somewhere near his best for 2014. That explosive pace and depth kicking to leading forwards or blasting through the goals. Will be great.

Thought Foley had really good impact this year but he had crucial fumbles when he tried to dispose of the pill. Looked a bit rushed when snapping for goal but that's just 2 seasons of rust. Next year watch out I reckon.

Not his best season this year but one of few older head's left in our midfield due to tuck's retirement.

Im confident with a full pre-season we will see him back playing a higher quality level.

Not sure how relevant this is but we did quite good when Foley was playing this year I really think his work rate eases the pressure on our midfield regardless of his poor disposal and fumbling this year.

2013 Richmond without Foley 3W 4L

Does Foley still have 2 more years on his contract??

God help us.
Foley 2 more
King 1 more
Newman 1 more
Grigg 2 more

And we wonder why we aren't any good!

The worst is Grigg. How the hell am I gonna put up with watching him prounce around with his arms up high, his terrible bubble kicks, non existent defensive game and lack of pressure.

Just noticed that yesterday was Axel's birthday. Happy birthday present = dropped to watch the team get outrun when you are one of our few speedsters who can break a line. Makes him 28 now so hope he can see out the last few years of his career with the Tigers.

I don't. I hope he is either traded or delisted.
Foley is yesterday's footballer. Fast. Gets it ok, but can't hit targets

Just got back off a holiday so have to support Axel here. Still not happy he was dropped for the final. He had a horrendous run of injuries and to play as well as he has this season shows he still has it. All he needs is a full and uninterrupted preseason and his body will catch up to his footballing brain so the errors will reduce.

I agree, UK. I didn't expect to perform any better than he did this year. I did think there was some sort of case for dropping him though.

as nathan's proud president i'm glad to post that he isn't going anywhere. he's very much a required player next year. disappointing he was dropped for the final but i suppose the club didn't want to risk a player who's not quite 100%. his leg hasn't quite returned to full condition yet, thus his disposal hasn't been quite spot on, but it's nothing a good pre-season won't fix. i'm really looking forward to see him back tearing up the midfield next year. support the boys :D

thats great news Rosy - i will vote for you as president of the year

Big fan of Foley

Nope - want him to have an uninterrupted preseason for his Achilles and have him back to his blistering best. Had no preseason in 2013 at all. With Dusty gone, Axel's burst speed will be most beneficial.

Jesus Christ. The bloke hasn't hit a target in 3 years.
Get rid if him

i seriously question you as a supporter zipper. we have a player who bleeds for the club and you come up with rubbish like that. nathan will be a tiger next year...better get used to it. :)

Don't question me as a member of this club. I have a point of view and my view is that players like foley, Grigg, Newman, king won't take us any where.
