Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

Must be one pissed off individual and rightly so. We went into the game with too many injury clouds over players, yet we dropped a fit inside and link player like Foley.

After the wake up call the blooze gave us Foley should be traded.

disagree. i wish nathan played today. i was really upset he was dropped.

Missed him out there today. We were a couple clearance kings short. Blues won clearance after clearance in the 3rd/4th. Baffled by his omission. Conca being subbed out only made things worse by 3 qtr time. We lacked grunt and run.

I was disappointed and somewhat concerned that Foley wasnt in the team when announced on Friday. I know its easy to be critical in hinsight but Carlton strength is their running game and their small quick mosquito fleet and Foley is the type of player that can match it with Carlton in terms of speed and run. Without him we were exposed in the second half today when Carlton dominated the clearances and their players just ran us into the ground.

Must be off loaded.
Yesterday's footballer.
Would've made no difference today.. Wake up people he played in the last game against them

It was Tuck or Foley.

We played Tuck. Massive selection error looking back IMO.

If he stays (may be traded), he needs a huge pre-season. Has to recover develop his kicking skills. He'll be competing for a spot with Arnott next year.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

I said it before the game, and posted it above during the 3rd quarter.

There is no hindsight here. Many were crticial of this decision.

He would've compounded the situation

I believe he offers more than Grigg and Petterd, in spades. Even it is a break even with them as far as effectiveness, his 10 years of effort, particularly in the lean years, deserved the reward over them. You get over yourself!

Further, how many 4 quarter games does Tucky have under the belt? Foley at least would have been a match fit sub, in te event of an early injury.

Completely Agree. I could not work out why if he was fit, Foley was omitted. He is an experienced elite mid-fielder with grunt. Can't have too many inside players like that.
