Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

I'd start him the sub him late. Played 7 out of the last 8 Coburg quarters so might be counter productive fitness wise to only give him 1 quarter this week even if its at higher intensity. They'd have to weigh up risk vs reward given someone could get injured and he'd have to play the whole game.

NO.
NOT YET.
PATIENCE.
LET HIM GET FIT FIRST.

Geez as if we haven't seen enough proof of the folly of playing injured or unfit players.
He's been out for almost a year. Let him get right before picking him.
Bloody panic merchants "Oh we've lost three games. Quick who have we got left to throw into the team."

Agree, If we play him too early he may end up a liability and has more chance of sustaining an injury if he's not fully fit and over does it

Would love to see him back in the firsts but although he is looking good at Coburg, I think he is not yet ready to step up to the firsts. Being good at Coburg is a way off first team.
Don't rush him, give him a couple more full matches at Coburg and work him hard in those then he will be ready.

Not ready yet, needs another 2 weeks in the VFL, needs to dominate a game first.

Club seems to be indicating he's ready to go based off their comments.

Be surprised if he doesn't play this week.

He might play though I thought that he was still quite rusty and would keep him in the twos. Tuck back in.

Need him for the second half of the season I feel, we won 3 games without him and will win the next 3 without him.

Spot on. It seems that Edwards, Tuck & the Big O dominated. McBean shone but didn't dominate. Foley played OK but didn't dominate.

Silly to call for players to step back up to the 1s before they can dominate in the 2s.

If Foley plays I can see him being subbed off in the 3rd term at some point.

There aren't any VFL games on this weekend. He won't get match fitness sitting on his ass. Play him as the sub.

A reasonable call really. Be interesting to see what happens. There are other midfielders that could be called up too people... One was rookied in and hasn't looked too bad in the ressies.

I think it is logical to bring a bloke who averages 10 contested possessions and 4 tackles at the top level back into the side at this stage. A few games in the 2's and then into the 1's seems a normal path for this quality of player.

It was great to see him back. A real leader on the field as well. If it wasn't for injury he may be captain now.
