Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

yep.... wounds good but I dont think he will Richmond will take the risk

30 min of Axel would help him get him up to tempo footy,,, Only drawback would be if we copped and early injury and he had to go 80+min!!

I would take the risk :)

While I want to see Foley back and while I can see his value to the team, I also don't want to rush him back and lose him for another extended period, because the step up in effort and class is too much too soon.

Dunno, the question is really is he footy fit and physically fit. If so he comes in.

You've got numerous players (eg young Menzel) who go down in seconds games, so you cant protect Foley in that way.

If he still is proppy or uncomfortable at VFL level then by all means let him ease in, but if he is running flat out at seconds level and his footy is up to AFL level bring him in. He'd be a great sub.

he would be a great sub. 5 pts down against the pussies at 3/4 time and Axle hands the ugly vest of shame to Newy, who has knocked up getting the ball. Axle busts out of the centre, takes 3 bounces and kicks a goal to put us in front. I have a strong belief, right or wrong, that we only have room for 2 of Axle, kingy, white and nahas. Axle is a class above the lot of 'em and I have been happy to be proven wrong by Kingy, who is clearly the best of the other 3. this pretty clearly signs nahas papers and whitey would be unlucky after his last 1/4 heroics.

You're assuming that he's going to adjust to the tempo of AFL footy immediately, when he's quite likely to scrub kicks and blow up for the first few matches.

Start him on the interchange bench and play for three-quarters before subbing him off if he's had enough.

Was very clean, in fact his touch was excellent on Sat. Was also a class above reading the play. However physically he still has a long way to go.

Little of the break away pace was there & his body especially his lower half still needs some work out into it.
He's best off getting full games @ Coburg for a couple of weeks yet ILO. Still a long way to go in the season.

Agreed i cant see him in this week against the Cats midfield not worth the risk.

Another good outing this week for Coburg may see Axel get a call up for the Power if our midfield gets collared again by the Pussies which is well on the cards.

Agreed.

Couple more weeks and he will be much better for the run.

Finger crossed he gets through unscathed and looking forward to seeing him line up for the seniors in the near future.

No VFL game this weekend.

Surely Nathan as the sub this week is the best result for Nathan and RFC.

Make it so, No 2.

Why not? Are they bugged after 5 rounds, the afl is a joke

Absolutely. But no sub for me. He starts.

Still think he was a little rusty in the 2's on the weekend but maybe an over rated Port Adelaide team might be a good first up game for him in the seniors.

Did you miss this weeks vfl game? He was ordinary.
No I didn't. He was pretty much the main man in that Coburg midfield. The one that cops most of the heat from the opposition. Playing for the seniors he is 4th, 5th in line.

Would get no objections from me, but I am thinking team wise having a Foley come on in the third when Port start to rely on their fitness might be handy. Also takes a bit of presuure off Nathan coming on with a bit of pace out of the game.
