axel and grimes vital cogs if we want to play finals

Agree with this. Big big big fan of a fit Grimes. Makes the back line so much smoother and sure of themselves. Foley is a jet when at his best which I hope he has a few left in him.

i hope he has a few years left too.. especially since we signed him up for 3 more years... some luck their way would be greatly appreciated :)

I think Axel 2013 is not so much about getting to September as what happens after that.

Thought Foley would be back in the first few rounds RD 2-3 Dimma says; “He’ll probably be back about Round 5-7, somewhere around there...

Don't believe anything you read in regards to injuries, especially Foley. I remember when he first did the injury they were saying he was pretty much a certainty for round 1. Yeah.....right.

Believe it when I see it. Reckon it's more likely we will see him in the 2nd half of the season rather than early on.

I love Foley but did we honestly sign him for another 3 yrs?? Terrible list managment.

Ask Craig Cameron 8ty.
If Axe is only back around 6-7 (which is still probably a generous guess) there's not much chance of him seeing senior action until the back end of the season.
Will have to prove himself through Coburg all over again first. Fingers crossed he can make some contribution to our run to September.

The best thing I read in the RFC article was that he is matching his old sprint times. So this eases my fear of him losing his pace due to the injury.

Possibly signed him for three years on a greatly reduced contract to give him some security and stability while trying to get his career back. May have saved a large compo payout due to injury on the end of a fat contract, if we chopped him or he doesn't recover suitably.

If he gets back up this year then there's some win win. If he staggers through or finishes up then perhaps we get some good will and respect for looking after our own while giving him all possible opportunity for a similar cost to simply paying out an injury cancelled career.

makes sense and a smart move if your assumptions are correct.

Much rarher he play rounds 12 to 25 than 1 to 11 if I could choose

i was staggered by the 3 year deal, but this makes a bit of sense. i'm sure the club went about it this way

I bumped into Nathan Foley at todays game and had a brief chat to him. He told me that the leg is all good and he expects to play for Coburg by Round 3 with a return to the seniors by rounds 5 - 6.
