Shattering news. Really hope his 2013 and beyond isn't affected by this and his recent injury history. With this injury goes our 2012 finals aspirations me thinks...we certainly can't cover the class that Axel adds. Couple this with the loss of Grimes, Kingy and TV and I would say we're done and dusted for finals. Really hope I'm wrong...

Poor dude. Disappointing for all.
I ain't no doc, but from experience if you over do the strapping to one injury the next part of the body suffers from the strain. My ankle stuffed my achilles for ages. When it finally got better my opposite knee went.
In hindsight I didn't keep my exercise and body support even enough.
Hope he rests the damn thing. Achilles are buggers

Does one of our medical fraternity want to explain the difference between a partial and full achilles rupture (if there is one)?

Surely it's Newman's time to be a midfielder.
There's always been talk of it but it's never eventuated. We have plenty of small-to-mid backs, and now we need some class in the middle.

I don't want to agree with you Newman, but I Agree. We looked like a finals side before Axel went down. We just haven't look like it since. Hope I'm wrong but finals look a long way off.Newman said:
We have officially lost that midfield zip required to be a finals side. Our midfield now looks sluggish although still hard at it. There is no zip waiting in the wings either with Arnott a bullocker and then who ........ noone. A pacy elusive midfielder is needed.
