Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

10-12 months I thought. Maybe wrong though. That's how long Roughead was out.

Just horrible news. But it felt like something was coming. Week after week he couldnt get up. Was certain he'd be unlikely to play again this year but now a ruptured achillies? Just hope the club wasn't pushing him too hard to try and come back for a finals assault. Don't exactly trust their injury management on past history.
Only good thing is that if he has torn it, it can be fixed surgically and it normally cannot tear again. If he has been bothered by it, the tendon actually going may help him in the long run.

A mate of mine did his and he has come back better than ever, although he did not play footy, but was playing a very good level of tennis.

Poor bugger. Hard worker who deserves a break. All the best in your recovery Nathan.

Sad news and feel for Foley.

Arnott has big shoes to fill but he will get a chance sooner rather than later.

The key thing is to get him (and Vickery and and King and Grimes) right for 2013. Next year is the year we should make finals if most of our key players stand up and we get the natural improvement expected from the younger players.

Obviously we'll just have to make do for the rest of this year and hopefully get games into players like Arnot as well as give others like Webberley another chance.

Hopefully Nathan makes a full recovery.

Just terrible news Rosy :-( Thanks for the info. I have a ton of time for Axel.

No worries rombos. Just wish I had different news. Things haven't looked too good for a while but this is just terrible.

Not sure what's worse, a full rupture or partial rupture.

Not career ending as many have come back from this injury, A Rocca, Wocca Campbell and recently Roughhead. My main concern as a midfielder would be if he loses any pace. Time will tell.

Shocking news. 2013 will be the year for a change in luck.

Terrible news. I feel for Foley who is one of the hardest workers at the club.

I was hoping he would come back because he is such an important player for us. It's going to be an almighty effort to make finals without him.
