Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

Not good at all. Very very sad.

Not only does that put a huge dent in our finals chances this year, but must cast doubts over Foley's playing future.

This year when he was fit and firing showed just how good a player he is and how important he is to us.

The question must be asked...how does he go from having these bursas (whatever they are called) on his foot to rupturing his achillies?

Apparently the bursa had started putting pressure on the achilles a while ago. Nathan was just having a light run this morning and pop. :'(

Someone must have walked under a ladder or killed a black cat down there.

The season has turned to *smile* in the space of a week with injuries, suspensions and the rest.

Whatever small chance we had of playing finals this year has gone down with axel IMO.

Devastating news. Midfield has been alot weaker without Axel. After Cotchin he was still imo our next best complete onballer. Will be sadly missed. Finals now very unlikely. Roughead for the hawks ruptured his achilles as well last year and has come back well; if it's the same/similar type of injury hopefully he makes a complete recovery for next year. Amazing bad luck for us with first Vickery, then Grimes and now Foley all our for the year, especially now when we finally were a very good chance to make finals if all were in the side. Devastated... :'(

GO TIGES!!!

Gutted. We (coaches and recruiters ) need to presume he will never be back. They need to get another player who can play his role.

We now know

We have one rover - injured
We have one A grade forward
We have one ruckman.

We need to address these deficits over PRE-season

How long for an Achilles to reapair?

10-12 months I thought. Maybe wrong though. That's how long Roughead was out.

Just horrible news. But it felt like something was coming. Week after week he couldnt get up. Was certain he'd be unlikely to play again this year but now a ruptured achillies? Just hope the club wasn't pushing him too hard to try and come back for a finals assault. Don't exactly trust their injury management on past history.

What history in particular are you talking about?
