Just a casual observation not sure if it has been mentioned before but in his profile photo it looks like he has a cut under the eye just showing how tough he is!!

Pretty sure he had a black eye in last years photo as well. I'm beginning to think he gets someone to belt him one just before the photo in order to look tougher ;)

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

It almost brings a tear to my eye when I see Nathan put his head over the ball and inevitably come off with blood p!ssing out of his head, knowing full well that some others in the team will jib it or otherwise avoid contact at every opportunity.

If ever there was a guy who deserved his spot in this list it's this bloke. Done it the hard way.

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

Our best midfielder to date this season. A rookie no less!
Probably earning a fraction of some of his wealthier, more esteemed team mates.
Puts them to shame.

Love his attitude. We are lucky to have him.

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

It was also mentioned by Jennie D, our Pres, at the Tiger Lilies "Do" last week that Nathan was probably the most obliging of all our players when it came to attending functions etc.

(A very proud player President)

Nathan Foley... is there anything he can't do?

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

With no disrespect to Foley, it's sad that with all of our draft picks, our best midfielder has come via the rookie draft.

I think that's a bit of a slight on the club, for either it's inability to draft the right player, or get the best out of the players it drafts. Hopefully, with McRae on board, this will start to change.

Nothing surprises coming from the RFC.

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

well considering he is the only player that wants to put he's head over it and can find the footy it kinda stands out doesnt it

I see it in a different light General, I think it is a huge positive that we can get our best player from the Rookie draft. It shows that the rookies are getting the support the need to maximise their potential.

I don't think that it is an indictment on West Coast that Cox came from the rookie list. Blokes from the rookie list have to work harder than national draftees who get gifted a higher salary and more attention from the coaches. It is great to see that blokes like Foley can step up, he should serve as an example to our earlier draft picks:-if he can make it with then someone with the advantages of being a national draft pick should be able to perform to their best as well..

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

Another tremendous game last night.
Axel's taken his game to another level this season and then some.

He's our best player by that far it's not funny ATM and will soon become a household name if his improvement continues at this rate. *Great to see a genuine inside mid emerging at Richmond and he is a very bright light in a dark season to date.

Hopefully there will be more than just two different footy cards of him next year.
(Well, I think there are only two out there.)

Go Weeble!

Does he get tagged? If not I reckon he will soon.

Has the JD Medal sewn up already IMO.

Re: Nathan Foley has the heart of a lion.

Probably mentioned before, but Axel was leading the AFL for centre clearances going into this round. Now that is beating established guns like West, Kerr, Kirk, Harris. Great effort by Axel :clap

It's good to win the centre clearances but Nathan doesn't exactly close his man down. I'd say players like West and Kerr were very damaging against us. West had 13 contested possessions to Nathan's 7. Nathan also had 6 clangers and 4 frees against to West's 3 and 0 as well as less possessions overall. I love his endevour and attitude and love to see a kid backing himself but I'd like him to show his opponent a bit more respect too.
