Nankervis !!

Nankervis was graded as medium impact i think.

Nankervis has been great for us so far year, but one area he will need to look at is the impact of his opponent. i reckon 4 out of the 6 games the opposition ruckman has been in the best 10 on the ground. obviously he is young and learning, so he gets some slack but it is something he will need to improve.

Nank went off his game progressively after the obviously reportable. And I thought Jacobs mainly got off the chain after that. And when covered by others. But I totally agree that we will need him to play tight over time, Brodders. Just not yet. Less elbow smashing will do for now. :) The spirit was right.

Blood nose or not decides whether it's low or medium. If a player gets elbowed with the same force anywhere else in the head it's low, if he gets elbowed in the nose so it bleeds it's medium.

Farce

Correct dnt. Actually, both were medium as I recall. Why were they treated differently?

Total farce. Claret on TV isn't a good look.

That Buddy hit on Shank a couple of years back where he ran past the ball....was a hard hit, but Shank got up straight away. 2 weeks down to 1. If Shank stays down, is helped up by trainers, a bit of claret....4 weeks. Farce.

Tell me how this works.

Fyfe is charged with striking as is Nankervis. Both are listed as careless and low contact. Fyfe gets yet another $1000 fine and Nanks, never been up before cops 2 weeks downgraded to 1. Why is it so??

Fyfe is untouchable...from memory he was fined 3 or 4 times in his Brownlow year, but no suspension. AFL didn't want an embarrassment on Brownlow night.

Spirit D'e. Need more of it in bucket loads. By the bucket for the bucket. Helps if the umps pay a free or 10 to stop the holding off the ball. Just saying.

Fyfe low impact, Bank medium impact. That's height discrimination.

certainly needs to keep the elbow work honed.

use it or lose it.

but yeah, angle 'em down, toward the 7th rib.

Impact (force) is different to contact (where you hit).

They've judged Fyfe hit with less impact than Nank. Shame, but giving him a week off against a team with no real ruck man might help keep him fresh later in the year.

I occasionally get a blood nose from blowing too hard. Farce indeed

If the umpires pulled the whistle out of his ass in the first place.. He would've got the free for holding
What was McKay doing? The ball was 5 metres away

Sorry there is no tongue in cheek emoticon.

But to be fair neither of them looked or could see where the elbow was going to land. The force was the same, Fyfe missed, mainly because he is shorter. There is some merit in the height argument. Not to get Nank off, but probably suspend Fyfe.

this so called decision by the afl stinks!
a rest will do him good ..........................tho!

Long term, won't hurt him to have a week off now. Still a lot of footy to be played this year, gives him a chance to freshen up.
