Nankervis !!

Nank did what had to be done. Swans were getting arrogant and cocky treating us with disrespect. It was time to step up the pace otherwise our season was lost.

Sure it was high-risk but it turned the game for us. Papley went into his shell and some of our youngsters grew in confidence(e.g. Young, Ross, Miller)

Hopefully he gets no more than 3 weeks, Soldo comes back in to help the rucking and we stay in the hunt for September action.

He turned the game.
Similiar to Stafford breaking Everitts jaw and turning a 40pt deficient to a win.

Only issue I have with the Nanksters bump compared to a few others this year is the intent factor of the action compared to simply the injury result of the action.
Pickett, Gooey, Spewart all elevated into their bumping action which automatically targets the head. Nankster tried to lower into the bump, aiming correctly for the body. Unfortunately he's a big bastard and still got the duckling in the head.
Personally reckon their should always be a variation to the penalty applied by taking this simple factor into account, sadly with the AFL system of box ticking manufactured outcomes it doesn't happen.
Nank will get the mandatory three weeks plus the Richmond penalty tax n we might be lucky to see him start back round one next year.

Noticed he part turned around as contact was about to be made.
It was his shoulder who hit the poor little swannie not his fist or arm.
Maybe that should be taken into account, but being a Tiger, no way!!

IF Nankl gets more than DeGoey who's feet left the ground looking very much like the bump intended to target the head, then it will further prove the 'take' is on.

I'm still smarting over the Mansell suspension, which was a pure footy act while his opponents actions were those of an 'incompetent' with no awareness of what was around him.

yes elevating into the bump means they have a higher probability of head contact

i always wonder why players leave their feet when bumping, you get a lot more traction and force by keeping your feet grounded

Nank has really improved his ruck craft the last 12 months or so, especially at centre bounces, we're going to miss him.

Next week when our opponent is getting “arrogant and cocky” who do we despatch to do the deed? Grimes, he needs to get real about being captain and clock a few blokes. Or is it a job for Soldo? Jack needs a break maybe him?
who decides the target? Is that an on field decision or is there a an Assistant Coach for Smacking the Opponent. I am curious.

Or Picketts ( Melb variety ) flying Superman split down the middle ‘take out’ , got only 2 weeks I believe.?

The RFC Loading Tax will come into play, guaranteed!

Kosi was extremely fortunate there. Once because his victim had a hard head and secondly because for some unknown reason they chose to only give him 2 weeks for something that should have gotten him at least 4.

Was a silly act, did not go for the head like De Goey, so should not get more than De Goey.

3 weeks is reasonable.

But it really depends on the completely random and grossly inconsistent penalties the MRO and tribunal dish out. Who knows, Pickett got 2, others get 4, once the pie warmer has sufficiently warmed the pies they will dream up a penalty.

Yep. I reckon we'll appeal.

Imo it is no coincidence that we've playing so much better since Nanks came back from injury. First game back against Bombers could see he was underdone, then played a blunder against Port and has been great ever since. He is going to be a huge loss for us.
