3 weeks seems reasonable, hard to prove it was deliberate, so hard to maintain a really long suspension.

I saw some report comparing it to the 1 week Hawkins got some time ago, anyone remember that one and if it was similar?

Nah.... Tommy boy, lovable country lad that he is was just clumsy.
He's like a big teddy bear and it was so out of character!

(Now, let me think, who was footy ops boss at the time?)

The Pussies will be beside themselves with glee over this decision.
Yeah.
Hopefully it works out like last time Toby was suspended. Against us.
We were all full of glee, too, until the match started.
Then we got pantsed without Toby.
Hoping this week's match gets a similar result.

True. Greene kicked 4 against the Cats in their recent win though. He's about as big an out as you an get.

So Greene could play again this year if th3 3 games stands. GWS win their way to the GF and it is a draw. He can then play in the rematch. Or if any of their remaining games is a draw actually

about time the umps were made professional in order to increase the standard of umpiring and reduce the confusion, bewilderment and anger directed at them by the fans and players. I'm surprised incidents worse than this don't occur. It's unfair to expect part time umps to perform at a high level (as we expect from the players) with the constant rule and interpretation changes forced on them by the duds at AFL house. The AFL can afford to *smile* money up the wall at every turn but can't afford to employ full time professional umpires, when the standard of umpiring is pathetic and getting worse by the day.

So it was Stevic's fault?

That looks way more deliberate than Toby Greene's shove. Hawkins thrusts his hand out towards the umpire, was lucky not to shove him. Very lucky to only get 1 week.

The inconsistency is appalling just as usual I suppose.

Looks like Gestapo Gill will appeal to lengthen the sentence for Greene. I still can't get over the Houli one in 2017.

How do they act as a 3rd party in these cases??

Got me, so if the AFL don't like the sentence given, they give the right one?
