mELBOURNE WEATHER [Merged]

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

Sure is cold, been very foggy the last few mornings. When I headed off to work yesterday morning it was 1 degree. Just wish we'd get some rain.

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

Cant stand this weather it impacts upon my happy go lucky persona ;D

Just got back from 10 days in Far Nth Qld and what a shock of the most brutal preportions when arrived home god there would be no balls on any brass monkeys as they would be well and truly frozen off.

Hehe...yep, it's good up here this time of year eh Craig?

In fact, being a southerner you may be able to translate all the unfamiliar terms on this page for me...'winter'...'cold'...'freezing'...'drought' etc....and maybe explain why on earth people keep putting that " - " symbol in front of the temperature? ;) 8)

Hehe...sorry Craig! ;D

I probably shouldn't mention that today we went to look at a house we're thinking of buying and I got a little sunburnt when I was out in the backyard having a yarn with the owners...sampling delicious fresh oranges straight off the tree, bananas, mandarins, five corner fruit, passionfruit, paw paw and lots of other all year round tropical delights. Would have liked a swim in the waterhole too, but alas, not enough time. It's a tough life mate, but someone has to do it. ;)

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

Um......Does it ever break 10 degrees in Victoria?
Its drizzly,5 degrees C,perfect day for suicide and Nick Cave c.d,s.......and watching melbourne give the pies a public flogging........ :cutelaugh

I always wondered where that saying came from and pictured fat buddah looking monkies with their legs crossed in pain and shame.

I heard a boring explanation on the radio this morning and my mental image has been shattered. Apparently "Brass Monkey" is a kind of cannon and the brass balls shrunk a bit in cold weather. Hence "Freeze the balls of a brass monkey"

Believe it or not? ;D

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

i cant believe a lot of you are saying you love the weather.
its shocking - half the time you dont wanna leave the house, the pubs are less packed and not as many girls go out and about on the weekends. and people are in bad moods

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

Need some rain Nitro, got to have some grass to feed the cows in the paddock mate.
Old Jack Frost is achieving but ruining the crops.

We need a bit of this :hula :hula

Re: mELBOURNE WEATHER

Absolute belter of a cold front ready to burst through Victoria....If we could slow it down a bit and get some tropical air into it.....It might be good for 2 or 3 inches I reckon............ ;)
