Re: this very odd weather.....

Pretty calm down here in Geelong, Nitro. Got a bit of rain last night and a little windy, but today was warm and sticky.

Not the rain and wind and electrical stuff that some of you are having!

Re: this very odd weather.....

windy as heck in the burbs Nitro...

Had to lock the gate, hope the old dead tree out the front doesn't come down on me during the night. Suppose the only good thing about it being dead is maybe it will shatter if it falls and wont harm anything?

:nailbiting

I blame Keating for the weather. It's been shocking since he made us a part of Asia. So muggy.

And as for deregulating the climate. Keating has a lot to answer for.

Come and rip my verandah apart dave. We haven't had any rain here. Two small sprinklings for the year. :'(

Re: this very odd weather.....

Yesterday's paper had a great article on the El nino and the fact that it is technically over...ie sea temps in the Pacific have dropped... so we should get some rain next month. (Hope that's so for everyone's sake). Here in Caulfield we've had 2 mm for the month so far. :'(
Of course that doesn't take into account climate change, there was the observation that rain patterns that normally fell in Victoria for farmers and dams are now falling in Bass Strait.

Damn that Bass Strait.

Re: this very odd weather.....

Some tourists should read it as :-

Welcome to MELTBURN, AUSTRALIA - the city of searing heat, where water is more precious than gold, and
where grey clouds are prohibited from extracting urine.

Re: this very odd weather.....

It's hit 39 here today, but the cloud cover is increasing now.
We got a few mm's of rain last Friday, it's been very hit and miss over the last few days with the thunderstorms.
